He has always bitched about colorization of BW movies, meanwhile he is constantly revising his own work so that it doesnt even resemble the original.

On the DVD edition of Ep.4 he's adding a drunken pair of E.T.'s fighting in the cantina, right before Greedo shoots first

Or better yet, the actor that played Jango Fett is dubbing his voice over Boba Fetts for the DVD. (Not kidding)

No shit...well, I bet we could get plenty of people to chip in and hire a hobo to fly a kamikaze mission straight into Skywalker Ranch.

Not quite. He's lambasting other people changing the original artist's work, not artists revising their own stuff. There's a HUGE difference.

I understand this too, but it's still hella ironic.
You'd think George would at least have the common sense to keep this line of thought to himself.

It really just raises the question: At what point does your work no longer belong to you? Shouldn't there be a point where you respect the wishes of people who love something you've done enough to leave it alone?

I mean, it's George's right to fuck with his work, but it's also our right to think he's a dumbass for doing so.

The original artists are all dead. :D

They're offering a choice between both versions, something Lucas is too much of a bullheaded dumbass to even contemplate doing for the fans.

I don't agree with George on this one, but not for the same reason as most other people. I just don't see the big deal with switching from black & white to color - it's not like you're really altering the person's work. It's like adding dolby 5.1 to an old movie or something, which I don't really mind at all. I like to have the original version available, but I don't see it as "watering down" the movie or somethin like that.

Now the shit that George has done to his own movies, while basically deleting the originals from existence, is fucking ridiculous. What an idiot.

He hates the concept of DVD's, as well as basically anything that allows people to watch movies in the comfort of their own home.

Didn't he also have the ending scene of Return of the Jedi edited for the DVD so that the actor who played Anakin for Episodes 2-3 would be displayed instead of whoever else it was back in the day?

The guy's a good writer, but he lacks common sense. I could understand bitching about the colorization if you couldn't watch the DVDs in black and white if you wanted to do so, but that's not the case.

And he's definately a dumbass when it comes to his own stuff. I mean, refusing to EVER show the originals is just ridiculous, especially when that's all the fans want.

About the Three Stooges thing: offering both versions on the same DVD isn't anything I see that should get people into a tizzy. You're still getting the black-and-white versions! I mean, what's the problem?

PPAAAHHHH! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

I really hope you were kidding on this one. He may have written the main concepts for his movies, which are decent I suppose, but check out the dialog in Episode 2. Any idea who wrote THAT trash? Mr. 'My Cunt Don't Stink' Lucas did. Episode 2 has probably the worst dialog of any Star Wars film, definitely Lucas' worst effort. It also happens to be the worst Star Wars film to date, closely followed by the floating turd that was Episode 1.

They're offering a choice between both versions, something Lucas is too much of a bullheaded dumbass to even contemplate doing for the fans.
Amen.
