I confess, I did it today.
After my Sidekick died for the 3rd time I finaly had it. I pre-paid for the NGage QD. It comes out next Friday , so they're letting me use a loner cheap-o phone until it comes out.

They had two QDs on display with Bomberman and Ashen in them, and that's what made decide to give it a shot. Played Ashen for about 15 minutes and I'll admit, it's damn good. Reminds me of Quake and the graphics are simply amazing. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that KOF for the nGage is good.

I don't see what the big deal is ? Its like a mini x box when it comes to emulation (8 or16-bit games). I did not get an old one due to the whole side talking but I may get one this time . Playing mario kart while i'm on the shitter will be great .

Those emulators are for Series 60 platform and that means N-Gage is nowhere near the only phone to be able to run those.

yeah but the shape and button set-up make it better for gaming
for the price I don't see why people call it the worst thing ever made
most 60 platform phones cost twice as much
while i'm not an n gage fan boi I don't see what the big deal is with someone getting one

Well if the main thing you'd do with Gage is playing teh romz, wouldn't it be like smarter to get GP32 instead since you did mention in that one thread that you have Sony-Ericsson..
And the QD doesn't have any of the good things the original had, like radio or MP3 player..

Not really I don't play my gba because I have to carry it around . I have my cell phone with me all the time so it would be a bonus to play some games on something I have with me anyway. There are hack programs to play mp3's the only thing is I don't think you would be able to use them as ringtones big whoop. I can see why people don't like it but to call it the ultimate gaming sin is a bit much . Switching memory cards will be a lot easier on this one . If people don't like it thats cool as tastes differ , my whole point is that its not as bad as people make it out . A lot of this is just bandwagon jumping "OMG its liek so ghey".

im about three days away from selling every game i own.
that's a pretty big sin, i reckon.
we had good times, but i'm about to embark on a life-changing inner-journey that requires a rather...ehm...minimalist way of life.

actually im devoting myself to rebirthing and retraining my pineal gland [third eye] to take in prana once again. with enough training, i'll become immortal...along the lines of Thoth [merlin, etc]...although word on the street ["street" as in, Akashic Records] is that he had to train 2 hours a day for 52,000 years to attain immortality.

as you can see, i've got little time for even gems like Silvergun.

Hey, atleast give Nokia some credit for trying. The first nGage had lots of problems and they solved all the major ones with the QD. No more taco talking, games swap out like any other handheld and the controller now feels like a real controller. And online Bomberman on my phone, bliss :drool_2:

Been there, done that. I have (but dont use) an original n-gage. U dont need to side talk with them, its still possible to talk in the same way as the qd.

I must say, portable tony hawks was fun, and tomb raider to a lesser extent but other games like super monkey ball are just terrible (bad port, smb on the gc and smb jr on the gba are some of my fav games).

All in all, as a phone, the n-gage is awful, I prefer my Motorola v525, which i got when my contract was up for renewal. My n-gage just sits in its box and with the poor support (certainly in the uk) I am unlikely to take it out of there.

I already had fun with the original taco phone.

Once this one gets to about 100 bucks I'll get it.
