I signed up for it and I started it today. I'm taking traditional Ninpo at an excellent school a few days a week. Today was my first day, and boy am I ever hurting, but it's that "I just had a great workout" kind of hurt. I'm quite new to this, so everything is coming slowly to me, but I'll get it. I'm determined to make myself the best I can be. Anyone else study this or any other form?

Took Shaolin Kung Fu for like a couple of months. Liked it, but like you said, it was a real workout. Took it at the community ed.

Too bad the instructor was a dick. I also moved out of the area soon after taking it, and couldn't continue.

I took Tae Kwon Do for three years back when I was like 11-14, I had to stop because it was pretty far from my house and my transportation got a job that worked too late.

I think about getting back into it from time to time, but I don't have free time to really put the amount of effort into it that it deserves.

I took 5 intro courses of Brazillian Jiu Jitsu, and I love it. I'm gonna go sign up tomorrow, hope I can stick with the course for a while.

shit yes kung fu motherfuck! the best thing u can ever learn is to karate chop someone in the neck or something and it makes them cry and get paralyzed. when i was little i was about to learn this move but it was too expensive so we get kicked out.

and also when we little we used to fight ourselves out the wall by our house. this one friend was nerd and he liked karate kid the movie so when my brother fight him he tried to do CRANE KICK and kick my bro in the knee and my bro hit him so big man he was such a chubby little rascal.

I've been a Bushido Knight for the last eight months, Shinkaze-Ryu. It's the best thing I've ever done with myself, I'll be envolved with the martial arts for the rest of my life.

OOOH I love Muay Thai. So brutal I miss it.
Not many people know how to attack with the knees and elbows.

You should check out a movie called Ong Bak. Supposedly it's the best Thai boxing movie ever made.

I take Wing Chun now. Bruce Lee's mother art. Super efficient.
Since my school does it soft style, I can probably do this until I'm dead.

Started when I was 3 years old, and I still continue studying.

During all these years I studied Judo, Taekwon Do, Aikido, Iaido, Kendo, Tai Qi Quan and Ninjutsu.

Ninjutsu is the one I currently study and train, and the one I simply consider best.

I studied Aikido for about a year or so when i was younger, and then studied Praying Mantis Kungfu for 9 years, from 91-2000. Had to stop because engineering school sucked. I dabbled in some tae kwon do/tang soo do and hap-ki-do along the way as well.

I love it, and really want to get back to training regularly, but my schedule/location makes it nearly impossible at the moment.

I'd like to study drunken kungfu (and i dont mean getting into fights when im drunk), but in the words of some random unknown chinese actor, with really cheese english dubbing: "Mantis kung-fu is The Most Powerful Kung-fu!"
(if you can name that movie ill give you a ticket for a free mantis kung-fu lesson, provided you come to Mobara)

what is the fascination nerds have with practicing martial arts? when they could never use it in a real life situation if they wanted too....
