Okay...I've been digging around and I've found a few cells that I'm interested in. I'm planning to buy it next week (pay day  )

Okay...I'm looking at:

Sony Ericsson K700i
Motorola E398
Samsung D415 and E715
Motorola V600

I can't make up my mind (I'm leaing towards the Motorola E398) and I'm going to have to keep this cell for a while....a lot of people here know a lot about various cells so please help :glee:

Sony Ericsson K700i - Nice design, overall great, relatively big memory.
Motorola E398 - Great, beautiful phone, 64Mb, cheap expansion cards.
Samsung D415 - No mp3 support, horrible slide-up design.
Samsung E715 - Not worth, outdated, small memory.
Motorola V600 - Not worth, simply outdated.

The only really good ones are the K700i and the E398. Still, you should get the E398, it looks great, works great, uses relatively cheap expansion cards and has a pretty big memory.

The Motorola E398 is what you need.

Nokia N-Gage - Wow yea this is real cool and stuff you can play games on it and it looks really sexy and important when you talk on it. You can play puyo pop and bust a move remotely and maybe pick up a chic.

Cheap garage sale land line phone + messaging service from your local telco. - cool yep this is neat and all. See what you do is like get some cheap phone at a thrift store or garage sale, and then get a messaging service from whatever local carrier for like 3-4/month. And then when you get home you check messages. And it's all neat and junk because when you have dial-up and are posting on message boards or looking at Internet porn, they can still leave you a message. What message is so important that it can't wait till you get home anyway?

Expensive Phone + Answering machine combo - Ok yea so right you go pick up like a real pimp ass good phone with a nice digital answering machine ok? and you program it so you punch in a code and check it from a payphone, a friend's cell phone, or any other phone. Because no call is so important that it can't wait till you get home, right? Be careful, though. Checking your messages while driving can cause car accidents. Pay attention to the road and wear a helmet. But wait oh yea, when you are checking your messages from a friend's cell phone, what do you need to check messages for anyway since you are already using a phone??

Now listen to me I was a telecommunications major and I know everything and shut up.

Thank you.

Tried checking online reviews?

Nowadays Samsung phones are simply outdated. After the A500, they just tend to stay behind the rest of the competition. You should not even consider them.

Sony Ericsson and Motorola offer great phones, but Sony's tend to be more expensive, especially considering that regarding expansion they only accept MemoryStick/Duo, while Motorola phones use non-propietary expansion cards such as SD, T-Flash, etc.

Seriously, you should get the E398 out of the ones you listed. I love keitai as well, I know what I am talking about ;)

I donno how providers are in the US but our GSM network in Canada, is great...I've never had a REALLY bad cell (probably because I've spent a little more then usual)...

I've checked out some reviews and the K700i and E398 both sound great...I would get the K700i but there is no expanable memory. But its got a healthy dose of 32 megs...

32Mb? I thought it had 41Mb... anyway, the E398 has expandable memory via SD T-Flash cards, and comes already equipped with 64Mb onboard.

OKI 900 or the phones based off of it :D. If it's good enough for Kevin Mitnick it's good enough for you!

Too bad Sony Erickson's SAR ratings are high enough to cook chicken. I may be in the minority, but I like my phones under 0.80.
