this may turn out to be a lame idea but I don't want to post more than the one topic so this thread is inspired by laziness above everything else.

first up is this AMAZING sounding game for the DS.
here is some info pulled from the magicbox:
Atlus announced a new Nintendo DS action game called Caduceus Surgical Operation, which is a surgery action game which operates with touch panel and voice. You play as a young doctor, to perform operations on patients, you follow instructions on the top screen and operate on the touch panel, and you can cheer up patients with voice. The game is scheduled for a spring 2005 release in Japan.

if they pull it off it could really work fantastically and make portable gaming worth it. in fact if they pull this off I would possibly buy the system just on its merit (unless its not released in english because you can bet its going to be dense language-wise). I find this kind of stuff so much more refreshing than what the PSP is touted to offer.

The other thing that caught my eye whilst perusing the magicbox is the next fzero for GBA.
Nintendo will release F-Zero Climax for GameBoy Advance in Japan this fall, the latest sequel to the popular hover craft racing game. This time the game will have GBA Wireless Adapter support, 34 playable characters, and a new Course Edit mode
I thought the first F-Zero on GBA was a masterpiece, and I'm quite happy with my capacity to play it (as I'm not the best at racing games). One of the things that made the game was the excellent track designs, and the idea you can make up your own tracks sounds incredible.

anyone know if the DS will be able to play GBA games? coz I don't really want to buy another GBA just for this game (though I think I would  )

well if you want to bring attention to anything worthy that's caught your eye of late and want to post here please feel free.

That operation game sounds REALLY interesting. It also sounds like my thoughts of the DS becoming a "japan only success' could become a reality. This countries culture is to simple and shallow for games like this. I don't think the mainstream would adapt.

The surgical game sounds very interesting, though kind of, well, odd. I wonder what your little brother will think when he passes by your room or what people on the subway would think if they heard you say "You're doing great, Mrs. Johnson. Now take a deep breath as we make our way into your spleen."

Whilst i can barely bring myself to watch those surgery shows on tv I think i can handle playing the operation DS game. That looks and sounds very interesting. And fun, but fun in that strange kind of Harvest Moon I can't believe farming is so fun kind of of way.

If I had a house with a little brother he would probably think "I wonder if he got tired of always going for the browneye."

A new f-zero game..

I have been in love with these games since the first one on the snes. I actually still play it every now and then.

I heard there's even an anime in the making, so we might see more f-zero games soon..

Yea for games to make it here in the states, they must fall within 1 or more guidelines:

1.) Everyone else will like it, thusly making you cool.
2.) Sports. Nuf said.
3.) It can't be nerdy. This includes surgery games.

Well, according to Magicbox, NOA actually listed Caduceus among their list of games coming out in the States.
