I was fucking around with my computers resolution (right click - properties - sittings), when suddenly the desktop's wallpaper took the whole screen and nothing else was displayed.

now I can't see anything except the wallpaper.

I think there was a tick box that I shouldn't have ticked.

the only thing I can do now is right clicking. when I choose properties, the properties window doesn't show up. just like if the wallpaper was in front of all the other windows.

I tried to head the keyboard sequencies so that I change everything in the properties with the key board, but I noticed that there are less/different sittings in the other computer (which I'm using now), so I can't do that either.

any idea how can I fix that? thanks :)

Try changing it in Safe Mode. I think you have to hit F2 at a certain time while you're booting up and you can choose Safe Mode.

Actually, it's F8 and it's right after your BIOS lets the PC do it's thing, just before you see the Windows XP startup logo.

thanks guys.

ok I entered safe mode but .....

what can I do from there?

the tick box I mentioned earlier (which caused the problem) is not there (I use Windows xp).

I'll fuck around with it a little more and if I can't fix it, I think I'll need to reinstall Windows.

thanks everyone, it's been Fixed :)

my brother went to safe mode and tried a new user name/account, but he had the same problem.

he told me there is some kind of a store system/program in windows that records window's sittings and program installations for each day, so he tried that and put last Saturday's sittings. now it works fine.

Now go apologize to Bill and thank him for putting in system restore points.
