It would be cool if someone would organize a Neo-Geo.com table where forum members could drop off merchandise they want to sell and everyone could take turns manning the table. Just a thought to get the Neo more visible out in the swap meet :buttrock:

It was good to see some of you ng members though such as D-lite, KurtWRX and others...it was the only highlight of CGE.

What a let down..

For those of you who missed this year's CGE,trust me,you didn't miss a damn thing.

The show sucks,with only less than 200 people in attendance(maybe even less,who knows).

However,I did get a chance to meet some of the forum members,namely D-Lite,Maxlords,Datalogic,and Fomoco&co,among others.

Anyhoo,we will be gaming all night over here at 300Wins,so if any of you would like to attend,feel free to cruise on by,or drop 300Wins a PM for directions,if you're not familiar with his residence.

Yeah, I wasn't too happy with CGE, I had always wanted to go to one, and I finally did, I'm glad it was only a hour drive and I didn't have to fly in or anything. Also dojosky hooked me up with 2 discount flyers that saved me 20$ so that's good.

The Neo/SNK wasn't really represented at all, except for SNK's Full Page Add on the Front Inside Cover of the Program, for KOF Max Impact.

Inside there was only a AES with *1* controller, and 3 carts, Samurai Shodown II was perpetually in there, but Fatal Fury Special and Some other game was there, but I forgot what it was.

Also in the Swap Room, they had a VERY nice Gold System with Box, Personally I have only a normal Boxed System, and had no idea how big/nice/ those gold System Boxes are... I want one... PM me if you want to sell me one.

Also the little tag was interesting, and called the Neo Community "Elite" and refered to SNK as NEC for some odd reason...Typo/Blatant Error. (See Upcoming Pic)

Also inside, there was not ONE MVS machine... Absolutely ridiculous as far as I'm concerned. Seeing G4 Interviewing People was neat though.

As I was leaving I recognized some familiar faces from some Bay Area Gathering Pix. And was happy to talk to Jindo and Kyosuke75...This was also the highlight for me.

I will be posting nearly all of my pix on the longest thread in a bit... but some of them didn't turn out so good, as my hand was shaky and the camera blurred.

I struck up a conversation with some people shopping at the vendor booths, one of the guys said he came with over $300 just to spend on Neo Geo Pocket. None of the vendors were selling *anything* even remotely Neo related, and in the morning there was very litlle action in the swap meet room (which was so far away from everything else it felt more like a speakeasy than a meeting room).

Seriously, I think I was by FAR the biggest SNK presence at that show. No, actually, I had more SNK stuff on my swap meet table than all others had combined in the show. I sold quite a few Pocket games, but out of the heavy hitters, only sold a Cotton and Faselei! UK. Reversi is still with me as are most of the pricier stuff. Only sold one MVS kit (FOMOCO!) and one AES cart: AoF2. But a few members got the "off-the-back-of-the-truck" sale ;)

Highly disappointed in the show itself, but the afternoon swap meet was packed. I will be going again tomorrow with some restocked wares for the 1 pm swap time.

The show was 95% Atari 2600/5200/7800/Jag. The layout was one room with with the museum, one with the swap meet, and the dealer room. No Neo-Geo in the dealer room except an AES setup in the corner with Samurai Shodown 2. There was also an AES in the Museum. There was no Saturn, Dreamcast, or Atari XE in the Museum which seem strange. The only Saturn games I found was some commons and multiple copies of Fighting Vipers. Some Sega CD, Turbo Grafx/PC Engine games, and Master System games were there, but you had to look for them. There were a couple booths with NES stuff, but the rare stuff was overpriced. I managed to snag some cheap Atari XE/Computer games at the 4Jay's booth. The guy didn't list the XE and some of the computer stuff in his price list. The swap meet was okay. I picked up a League Bowling AES, Genesis Trouble Shooter, Ys and Space Harrier for the Master System. Surprised D-Lite's Floppy Gun. Duo-R, and Duo-RX didn't sell. At least when I was there. I had all the other UK Games in the box except Pocket Reversi. Somebody bid $130 on a Corona at the end of the auction. The host of the auction must have drunk 3 or 4 Beers during it. People bid several hundred dollars on some of the protos. No Neo-Geo in the whole auction. Overall satisfied with the show, but not impressed.

That is what I kept hearing. It was bigger and better in Vegas. I was expecting a much bigger turnout. I was surprised they even let the Hanaho and X-Arcade booths in with MAME setups. I guess if you have enough money for the booth or advertising you can have anything.

Personally I was quite disappointed with CGE. The only cool thing was the museum. And even that wasn't all that great, thought it had some interesting stuff. The swap meet room was tiny. And the dealer room... well, there wasn't much to buy, especially since I don't care much for Atari games, which was what most of the stuff was. I did get to meet some new members today, which is always cool. If it's in San Jose again next year, I doubt I will be going.

Well the AES system that you saw at Roger's place was my fully modded AES unit. I have another AES (normal) unit complete with foams/manuals etc. Next time when you come over to Roger's place, I'll bring some AES goodies that I'm selling. Since I'd rather have you check it out personally before you buy them. :)
