Gary Payton and Fox and a first round pick for Banks :buttrock: and Mihm :buttrock: and Atkins and a second round pick.

We needed someone tall and this kid (Chris Mihm) isn't half bad and Banks is going to be great!

Mihm, Grant, Cook
Odom, Slava
Butler, Walton
Kobe, George
Banks, Atkins, Rush

could also be:

Mihm
Grant
Odom
Kobe
Butler

on the floor...

IMO, that's not half bad. Not a championship squad, but at least they look more like a playoff team now. I like the move. Young, Fast, and a new Offense....should be an interesting year in LA this season. I can't wait until basketball season!

i gotta admit, the lakers dont look bad on paper, but we'll see if they can play together, i'd still take shaq over all those new guys. they still got to the finals last year, and they probably could have this year too, the pistons aren't in the west, i dont see why they nuked the whole team.

well, IMO, shaq was the team. He's gone, which I hate!! so they need to make some moves. They chose to go young. They needed a big man BADLY!! Grant at center with Odom at PF wasn't going to cut it in the west with the big men around. They wanted Fisher back, but he didn't want to ride the pine behind Payton and I bet he is kicking himself now over there in Oakland. Paytonwas going to blow it up in an open offense this year and I wanted to see him do it so badly, but they have a great future guard in Banks and Fox wasn't the same ever since he got hurt. Malone most likely won't be there now that Payton is gone though.

IMO, Malone may not have come back, Fisher left on his own, Fox wasn't the same, and the only player they really cut out was Payton and that's because they needed a center....

and yeah, they were STUPID for letting shaq leave.

But since shaq is gone, I think this was a good move for the future of the team. They are now fast and young and have a 7 footer and a PF with some size. IMO, they can rank in the 4-8 section of the playoff bracket of the west and will move up in the future as these players mature.

Yeah, I am obviously biased :) But I see this as a good move, reguardless of if their team looks different. Once shaq was gone, they NEEDED to make changes because without Shaq, last years squad wasn't doing shit.

oh, and I just got someone who knows the roster better then me to kick down their complete roster...

Marcus Banks / Chucky Atkins / Sasha Vujacic
Kobe Bryant / Kareem Rush
Lamar Odom / Caron Butler / Devean George / Luke Walton
Brian Grant / Slava Medvedenko / Brian Cook
Vlade Divac / Chris Mihm / Marcus Douthit

That's not half bad at all! although I think that's too many players,lol..

check the youth and size and speed...besides Vlade's old ass,lol..

vlade could start center or be a back up, vlade is solid ive watched him in sacramento every year, best flopper in the league! gets you free throws when u need them.

I kinda hope they give Sasha a chance at point, but now with Banks, I am not so sure. I think Sasha could start over Atkins...but I think Banks is going to be really good as well.

Vlade at center and Grant at PF will give them size. They can also put Douthit at PF if they want or if they go small, Odom can play PF.

I am just impressed looking at this roster. I can't wait for B-ball season.

Don't get me wrong, I am not thinking championship, but things are definitely looking better then right after the shaq trade.

Good trade for Boston, maybe it will be good for Lakers too. Boston got rid of 3 bums and got 2 has-beens (that will come off the books in a year). GP could still play, potentially. Rick Fox is just a gimme.

Banks could be a good player for Lakers, but Ainge had no patience for him hehe.

With Shaq we got more free throws than we could ever want. :oh_no:

Nice to see that we got rid of Rick Fox, he just hasn't been playing the same as he used to, and to be honest, I've hated him for years, anyways.

We'll get slaughtered in the playoffs but, as everyone in Boston knows, there's always next year.

Shaq : 21.5Pts 11.5Rb. 2.5Blocks.
Odom 17.1Pts. 9.7Rb. 4.1Ast.

IMO, The Lakers got the good end of this trade by far. Odom has the potential to be an all-star center.

I am all for Odom, but he didn't look to good in the USA game today. I think Banks will get better and Sasha needs to get minutes :D

IMO, Mihm and Vlade and Douthit are not so bad as a rotation. The Lakers have a lot of young tallent and then Vlade to teach the young centers how to play some better ball.

Lamar Odom is NOT a center. He's a freaking stick. He's a forward

Odom isn't a center, and he was good last year because of Wade dishing to him, the Lakers don't have a great PG, hell I don't know WHY they traded GP, he could have blown up next year without Phil and the Triangle. And the only reason Shaq wasn't averaging 30 points last season was because Kobe, GP and Malone are all ballhogs too and took away a lot of his points, Shaq is a ballhog, but I'd rather have Shaq over any of them, because when shaq touches it under the rim, it's an automatic 2 points 90% of the time. Kobe is too hot and cold, he throws up nothing but bricks some games when he thinks he's Larry Bird launching 3's every other possesion, shaq isn't gonna miss dunks under the basket.

Shaq can still put up 35pts and 20 boards a game in his sleep. And with Wade dishing to him next year, and no other Kobe types on the Heat, he will dominate.

BTW they were just trashing the lakers on ESPN, saying they look like the Clippers now and they won't even make the playoffs (which is funny because Odom used to be a Clipper), but we'll see.

On another note, Peja has asked to be traded out of Sacramento, so unless they get someone real fucking good for him, like Vince Carter, the Kings aren't gonna do shit next season even with a healthy webber and bibby. Not to mention they lost Vlade too.

All I gotta say is a great move for the Celtics. Get some veteran leadership on the floor and hopefully get some decent draft picks, cause the Lakers are gonna blow next year.

Why I said "potential". He's 6-11 230Lbs. Means he's got the height, just needs about 30lbs of bulk added on.

LOL....Lamar Odom is 6'10, I repeat 6'10. Where in the World did you get the idea that he is 6'11? Keep dreamin of him becoming a center one of these days, cause its highly unlikely.

to be fair Big Ben is only 6'8, and I'd say he's the best center in the east next to Shaq. but again, Odom plays Forward, he did for the Heat and the Clippers.

Odom isn't as strong as Big Ben and Big Ben is also playing out of position due to the lack of Centers in the East Conference. His natural postion has been and always will be Power Forward.

I think alot of players lie about their height, or maybe they get measured with their shoes on or something.
Every stat I've ever seen about Barkley says he's 6' 6"'. I got to meet him once and there's no way in hell he's 6'6". I'm 6'2" and he was only slightly taller than me, maybe by 2". And I did notice our shoes, he was wearing dress shoes , but I was wearing some old school adidas. So me having taller soles on my shoes wasn't a factor.

every player lies by at least an inch, a lot of the 7 footers are only 6'11.

Rip Hamilton says he's 6'7, and he doesn't even look 6'5.
