Bush Administration Won't Rest Until Everyone is Hurt

Which is why all these tax cuts, because the Bush administration would just waste it by actually hurting our country and our people, instead of just *thinking* it.

Thursday, August 5, 2004 Posted: 2:19 PM EDT (1819 GMT)

WASHINGTON (AP) -- President Bush offered up a new entry for his catalog of "Bushisms" on Thursday, declaring that his administration will "never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people."

Bush misspoke as he delivered a speech at the signing ceremony for a $417 billion defense spending bill.

"Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we," Bush said.

"They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we."

No one in Bush's audience of military brass or Pentagon chiefs reacted.

The president was working his way toward a larger point. "We must never stop thinking about how best to defend our country. We must always be forward-thinking," he said.

White House spokesman Scott McClellan said Bush's misstatement "just shows even the most straightforward and plain-spoken people misspeak."

"But the American people know this president speaks with clarity and conviction, and the terrorists know by his actions he means it," McClellan said.

It's obvious he just mis-spoke. He's spent more time on vacation than any previous President. Saying he's not going to rest until all are hurt just sounds too ambitious for him. Okay, he doesn't have that many left that haven't at least been hurt a little, but I still think he'll take at least one more break before he's through. Hell, he's probably resting right now.

Indeed, it was a slip up and sometime it's just that. If a reporter counted all the slip ups I made through a day, they could make me look pretty foolish myself. Even any board memeber could be painted as such if you counted all the mess ups you had during a day, but that's all it is, just a slip up, and some of you folks need to find better things to entertain yourselves with then the small slip of the tongue.

If the liberals here like that kind of lame ass drama why don't we bring up Monica Lewinski and Bill Clinton again? Man, who gives a shit?

Yes of course, we wouldn't want to burden people with standards. Then, we'd have laws that would stop people from killing one another, laws that stopped people from stealing money, laws that protected your freedom of speech, laws that did not allow someone to break into your house legally, and laws that didn't tell you what to believe......oh wait.....I forgot, we have those things.
