R-Type Final - What A Bummer!

Probably this title is old news to most of you, but being a lazy character I just got it about a month ago.

In the store I was hyped, And even when I booted it up (60hz option)

But the game itself...

-too easy

-slowdown city (like wtf, even though the ps2 is the least powerful of todays` consoles, still it shouldn`t lag like that, for example in the battleship stage... urghh. 3ven though I know nothing about programming, I wonder if irem had been a bit sloppy in that department.)

-too short

a pity actually, I could`ve been great.

Still, the different ships have kept me playing so far, and the AI Battle is a good boozing game.

Horizontal shooter fanboys are officially the worst ever.

I've said on a few boards I don't like them. I've never said in any seriousness that I think they suck, I've just said I don't enjoy them. Yes, I've played loads of them, but none have ever managed to entertain.

But it doesn't matter. I'm instantly branded an idiot by these moronic Gradius and R-Type fanboys. It's laughable.

Dunno If it`s that serious, I personally enjoy horizontal shooters, but as far as fanboys are concerned I`m only a "SNK Weapons-based fighting game" -fanboy :Z

I love R-type final. The best thing about it to me is the atmosphere - it just feels so creepy/scifi-ish. You should just play on the hardest difficulty to make it harder and try and get that harder ending.

It just reminds me of epic space fighter stuff. And at the endings I was always like omg it's beautiful.

You should be able to cope with slowdown. I don't personally like it but, what can you do?

We need Gradius V.

I really enjoy R-Type Final too. Heck, it is only $20, what the heck, a great game at a great price. It isn't the best horizontal shooter or anything, but I still think it is awesome for what it is. I don't care for shooters that are too hard.

i think r-type final is a very pretty but flawed game

but i dont care,i had fun with it - unlocking all the extra ships and all

its surely not a new dragon blaze or dodonpachi

its just R TYPE

thats the mistake you probably make,sir meller

you compare it to other different shooters and cant help but thinking "omg its crap"

i think thats not fair

example :

i know that breakers is not the hottest fighting game on the neo

but i can still sit down and have fun with it for 30 minutes

No, you're mistaken. I've played loads of horizontal shooters and I just don't find them to be entertaining. They're no fun. To me. I don't care if you hate them or love them. By all means, play them if you find them to be entertaing and fun. Just don't bash me for saying I don't like them. I'm entitled to my opinion and I'll decide what's fun for me and what's not.

This has nothing to do with R-Type Final specifically.

I've said that I (as in Me) do not like horizontal shooters. I do not like playing them. I do not find them to be entertaining.

I've never said that they all suck and all those who like them suck just as much. Feel free to play them if you enjoy them. However, I'm tired of being called names when I say I don't like that particular genre.

How many times do I have to write this?? I cannot understand how you can keep misunderstanding me like this.
