I like anime, but I probably will never go to one of those convention things. I really do not see the point.

Hell, if it means I can take pictures of nerds and laugh at them while under the influence of the whip cream cans later then yes, I would go.

Well that's an interesting dillema. I am an anime idiot. I know very little on it and I don't think I'd do well in a convention dedicated to it. However I'd really like to go to Oni-Con and see Big Bruno there but there are things we're doing that day :(. Plus I mainly don't wanna be around a buncha nerds and cosplayers.

As for a gaming convention... only one I'd want to go to that I can think of is the CGE. Screw E3 and "modern" systems, all I need is my Neo. But yeah ever since I knew about the CGE I've been aching to go. Seems like a lotta N-Gers go there (then again a lot go to E3).

I've been to one... ONE something back in the summer of '97 called Antartic-Kon here in SATX. It really sucked big time, I know there's AKON every year up in J.R. DALLAS land, and the Ushi Con thingy in Austin but over time I just don't see the point in attending these things. It was bad enough trying to convert {get people into} Japanimation in the early to mid 90's only to be called "NERD"... then those same sonsa'bitches turned around with the advent of TOONAMI and became worse than I ever was. Naah I'd rather head to the rifle range.

I'd go to a gaming con, but the anime thing is out of the question. Not because I don't like anime, it's just that I've seen to many horrifying costumes .... I'd be scarred for life :(.

The costumes or the chicks trying to fit into them, and/or the fag boys trying to be Iori Yagami and shit?

Yes, those. Not to mention that old dude in the Spider-Man costume with the 3/4 inch dick ... I still have nightmares. :help: :help: :help:

I couldn't attend a anime convention, the only anime's I like are Hellsing and Berserk so I would be lost. That and normally a place with that many ugly people and fat chicks trying to be Salor Moons there might be a Taliban bombing and the world would be thankful. Not to sure about a Gamecon since I don't like listening to a bunch a gamers bitch about the slightest thing, let alone fan-boys. :shame:

I've been to an anime convention once. I'd love to go to a gaming-related event, but I don't know of any near me.

Went to AX last year, and will probably go next year since I might actually have money then. Lots of fun and stuff going on pretty much 24 hours a day for 4 days straight. Good stuff.

I try go to the anime convention Otakon every year. When time and money permits but now it's geting to point. Where it seems it's geting to big for my taste. I like it when it was smaller at the Hunt Valley, Marriott,Hotel. You didn't have to worry about geting lost and finding, the event your looking for.

Now if i had a choice. To go to a gaming convention insted. It would be the CGE just to share classic, gaming moment with other people. All so to see what's for trade&sell.

I'd go to a gaming convention if it wasn't to out of the way. I went to a star trek convention when i was like 11, that was pretty cool - probably because i was 11 though.

An anime convention is completely out of the question.

NEVAR

I watch a few series a year, I do like it, but the fans etc make me weep.

There's one thing worse then computer nerds and that's anime otaku's.

Horrible.

I'd feel very out of place and likely annoyed at an anime convention. A gaming convention might be okay. The problem with saying "no" is that there is always some circumstance that could get me to go. If I had a wife who wanted to go meet the maker of some anime she liked, then maybe I'd even end up at an anmie convention. Would I want to go to either SIMPLY BECAUSE OF WHAT THEY ARE? Ehhhh chances are slim. I'd rather be home playing games than going to a gaming convention. If I was there I wouldn't mind being there... So if it was down the road maybe I'd walk down there...

Explains so much. :)

I would go to a Video Gaming convention, but would not go to an Anime convention. I have been to two comic book conventions woot.

What, you measured his dick? What are the nightmares? He was bigger than you?
:make_fac:

Edit: I suppose i should say somethign on-topic..
I've been to both, and as i am interested in both gaming and anime, they were OK.
Wouldnt go too far out of my way for it though. mostly ignored the extreme fans.
Sci-fi conventions are worse.

Gaming - Yes, Been to e3 3 years already. Missed this year since it was not a good time to go. :( Sucks too since I would have gotten exibitors (thanks to work) pass to get in while all way out side.
Anime - No ****ing way dude.
