Not at almost £90 including shipping and before a possible 38 % extra in import duty and taxes.

I'm quite content with my Namco stick. I think I'll just get some Sanwa parts and replace the ones already in the stick, one day...

YES PLEASE!!! I've seen this in the store and I've been thinking about getting it. I might just get the new hori FT2 stick, I have the FT1 and I LOVE it with a passion.

Short review..

Okay got my stick from NCSX today. (I preordered 2 of them @ $78 each w/ $12 shipping)

Very big (approx 14 x 9 x 3) and heavy.

As for the performance, stick is very nice, and since its sanwa, it has a square resistor. I tried the stick with VF4, and I can pull out akira's moves perfectly. Stick is tight, unlike DC agetec stick. If you like Japanese stick, this should be perfect for you. Clicky, but not as clicky as Hori's Tekeen 4 stick.

The buttons have longer travel, when compared with Hori's Tekken 4 stick. I read somewhere saying that the buttons are seimitsu's, not sanwas....
However buttons are way better that Hori's Xbox stick (which suck btw).

The only thing I think may bother some ppl is the stick's size.

Personally I am very happy with the stick. Best Japanese stick in terms of functionality and look.

Could you post some pictures of it (And maybe some close-ups)? The pics on PA and NCSX don't help too much. Also, what's that thing above the joystick?

Is that how you grip Japanese joysticks (I've only played on American ones)? It looks so weird playing like that.

There's nothing that says you have to, it's just a style. Depends on whether or not you find that more comfortable or not.

Kind of like how people play with their arms crossed.

Personally, I can see where that style of your hand facing up could work out on shorter cabs, as long as you're standing up.

I'd say it's pretty typical that most players play with that grip - first and middle finger on one side, thumb on opposite, others under. I can't hold a stick any other way.

As for the Real Arcade, I may well buy this, but I've got so many sticks already - the main thing I like about this is the terrific and huge enclosure.

Yeah, I'm debating picking one up too.

It looks perfect for VF4, and I love Hori sticks (I'm currently using a Hori Mini), BUT I just sold a Saturn stick 'cause there's just not enough room in my apartment.

@Hildegarn: Half of the players I see at the game centers over here hold the stick like that, it's pretty common.

How about holding it so that your palm covers the top part of the ball. If any of you have seen that Pac-Man episode of Friends, I'm talking about how Chandler holds the joystick.

So, why is everybody saying that it's massive? It appears to be of the same size as all the other arcade sticks.

after a busy day, Doom III, aside I finally got to Hook up the Hori Stick and give it a go... the first game I tried out was Guilty Gear Isuka... It was a good experience...I need to work on my skills for that game though :mr_t:

I then popped in something to really give the stick a worthy Try, Capcom Vs. SNK 2... I Completed the game twice, once with E. Ryu, and once with Ken.... I then tried out the Survival mode.. but only made it about 7 spots... So terrible... Orochi Iori Made mincemeat out of me...

The Stick Respounds PERFECTLY... The Experience is akin to something like an Orgasm... I Love the controllers feel, its so heavy and sturdy... and also the steel or metal, reflective surface feels cold and nice under your hands... And the buttons.. are just... Oh... theyre GREAT...

In Fact I feel my CVS2 Experience with this stick was SUPERIOR to some Arcades... Those of you who have ever played CVS2 on a sub-par, import, conversion cab will know what I mean...
The stick/buttons feel like A Naomi Cab... or a Very Nice Candy cab...

Possibly my favorite Stick of all time...

I can't wait to try out Castle Shiki2 and Gradius V.. this stick seems like it might be geat for shmups, with the autofire and all...

Here's a pic along side, what I consider the best arcade sticks of all time...

But no microswitches in the action buttons?

And isn't autofire almost like cheating?

Autofire... to me is just as bad as using a gameshark...

But I think its a cool feature for that stick, and it would be good for some laughs... or say you ran into a REALLY tricky area....

Do u guys find the button placements too slanty? Or the select and start buttons are too close to the fire buttons and they may hinder gameplay while in the heat of battle. i.e your fren or you mashing on the stick to maybe make u lose your momentum or something. No lone likes a paused fighting game.

I'm not really sure but I'm definately getting one for my collection though.

How about a pic at the level of the face metal, showing how much it slants, the height of the buttons, the buttons' slant, etc.

If you knock on the side of it, does it make a hollow sound? Exactly how heavy is it?

Yep, got one yesterday. Put in at least 6 hours of VF4:evo on it since then.
Its big, heavy, and just about perfect.
It feels very solid, and the weight makes it easier to pull off moves (It stays put, whether on my lap or on the floor or on a table.) I believe the weight is around 4kg (10 lbs).
The buttons are very nice, and the placement seems good so far. For VF4 and Samurai Spirits 0, it was great. No problem with the start/select being too close or anything. The start/select buttons not only are a bit smaller than the other buttons, but they are semi-recessed, to make hitting them on accident harder.

Overall I'm very happy, its a truly great stick, and a fantastic bargain (¥6500). I'm tempted to buy a second one, but noone comes all the way down here to the Japanese BFE to play games. Definately going to pick up some adapters to use it with my gamecube and xbox. Wouldnt mind a neo adapter too.. I like it better than my supergun sticks (sigma).

Can anyone compare the Hori stick on PS2 to the recent SVC sticks that Sammy came out with?
