Ah I see why Mortal Kombat 1 is gone. You can only get it if you preorder for the MK deceptions game. What a f#cking rip. I am majorly pissed off.

It's still a great collection, hopefully there will be a third, if not.......

EDIT: Fuck, that was the ONLY 'new' release that I was waiting for... I'm about to complain directly to Midway.

That games line-up was too good to be true...

Nah, I almost don't care about what is coming out for PS2 and Xbox. GC is teh only that have games that I have patience and interest to play right know. Of course, I want Tales of Symphonia, Baten Kaitos, Megaman Col... but that was something 'special' ;) I can wait some more time to get the others (they are all imports to me) but I was very excited, planning to get it right away.

Trust me, played both Tales and MMC, not worth the money. Save it for something better.

That sux that MK1 and Stun Runner were axed, but it's still a pretty sweet compilation. But it's pretty fucking ignorant to separate the Mortal Kombats like that though ... they should all be on one disc.

I guess these corporate dirtbags will do whatever they think they can get away with. :oh_no:

MK1 is cool, but why the fuck would you play it more than 20 mins when you have MK2? it's like playing sf alpha 1 instead of alpha 2.

Agreed, but I suppose it would be nice just to have it to mess around.

The real downer is the missing STUN Runner. I love that game, and really the only reason for me to keep the Lynx. :(

I think it would have made better sense if they ported over Mortal Kombat 4 as the exclusive game and kept MK1 on the MAT2 disc.

I'm curious to know when did Midway aquire the rights to all of the Atari Games Corp. games? Half the games just about on the first MAT disc were developed by Atari Games Corp. Now that I think of it, Xenophobe, S.T.U.N. Runner, and Steel Talons were all Atari Games Corp. games. Hummmm. :spock:

Yeah, it kinda sucks that STUN Runner was axed, but you can always download it off of StarROMs and MAME it. I really wanted to play Steel Talons, though... :crying:
As far as I know, all Atari arcade games made before 1985 and all console games (2600, 5200, 7800, Lynx, Jaguar) are owned by the former Infogrames. All games made on or after 1985 are owned by Midway. That's what I know at the moment.

You got it wrong. You are confusing Atari Games with Atari Corp.

Atari Games was the arcade only company and made game ports for 8-bit and 16-bit consoles under the Tengen label. It did spin off Atari Corp. when Sam Tramiel purchased Atari Corp. Atari games was later owned by Namco, Time Warner, and Midway. Midway adquired Atari Games in the later part of the 90's and eventually killed it.

Atari Corp. was the one that produced home computers and consoles and many first party games. After Sam Tramiel ran this company to the ground, Hasbro Interactive bought the Atari Name and IP's. But later on, again late 90's, Infogrames bought Hasbro Interactive, and Infogrames changed its name to Atari last year.

I won't miss MK1 in the collection that much. I only time i would miss that game would be to play it for it's, novelty then any thing else. Still it's ridiculous to have, StunRunner remove from the collection. A lot of people have fond memories of that game. Did Midway have a problem porting it?

I'm not disappointed. MK2 is better and I have MK1 arcade on my modded xbawks. I expect my brother to buy MK Deception (he is a huge MK fan) so I will probably get MK1 anyway.

Mortal Kombat II, NARC - Can't tell you how much I played MKII in the arcade and on SNES Xband. Can't wait to play real NARC, not the poor NES version.
Spy Hunter 2, Total Carnage, Wizard of Wor, Xenophobe, Xybots - Now these bring back memories. I've only played Spy Hunter 2 once, and would love playing it again. Total Carnage and WoW are ok. Xenophobe and Xybots are Lynx classics.

Definitely worth the $20, Stun Runner and MKI are just icing on the cake.
