team usa has the best players in the world, no contest, but that doesn't mean they can play as a team. most of the players are young phenoms like james, amare, jefferson, wade, boozer, carmello, fuck half these guys were rookies last year or the year before, none of them know how to play team ball yet. the oldest player on the team is iverson and he's only 29. tim duncan is their only REAL power player, he is also probably the best player in the world next to Shaq (and if you count kobe up there), after all the originals backed out. he doesn't play center in the NBA but will probably be playing center most of the games.
so you basically have A.I. running point (when he isn't benched for missing practice)and Duncan in the middle, surrounded by a bunch of rookies and 2nd year guys, who half of aren't even all stars yet (but could be someday). i won't be surprised if they lose, but they do have the most talent player by player, but tell that to the 2004 lakers....
think of who was on the original team, shaq, kobe, big ben, t-mac, KG, Kidd etc etc, all backed out for some reason. if that team went the other countries didn't even have to show up. Duncan and A.I are the only 2 originals that stayed.
