I went to check out fry's electronics and see if they had doom 3 since it just opened up around here. They didn't have it, but they did have a ultimate doom collection with all the old school dooms for $19.99. Picked that up since I've wanted to play all the old dooms again, and at least have it around. Then went up to best buy to get doom 3.

I don't know why I posted this or why anyone would care. :envy:

Are there still servers for deathmatch games, and do people still play those? I'd be fucking down for some oldschool Doom DM.

Not sure. I have a feeling the popularity of online Doom really hit its all time low when Serious Sam came out. I think Serious Sam still has an online scene, even though many play it for Single player. Serious Sam is still the game to get, for the old DOOM fix. Mainly because it throws in a Robotron level of intense combat, for good measure. Not to mention, from the movement, to the firepower, to the animation; Serious Sam delivers a pretty nice update to that style. And best of all, it's just as cheap.

Even though, for nostalgia sake, I guess it is nice to have DOOM around. I just haven't been motivated enough to get around to it.

I know what you're talking about butta, since I have a copy too. :)
I got mine for $10 after a $5 trade in credit at Gamestop. It's certainly a lot of fun, even after all of those years.

It ownz your soul for $50 shipped. Don't go in because you will want to buy something.

Think about Tiger Direct, Best Buy, Radio Shack mixed into one.

How much did you pay Butta?

Not to sound too terrible...

But Serious Sam is utter Garbage, and should not be compared to the likes of Doom.

If you want to save a little cash, get the Doom collection from Wal-Mart. It's only $9.99 there, or maybe it was $9.95. Whatever. I got it there about a month ago.

I just wish I could play Doom 3... :crying:

Talking about Doom DM reminded me of how much fun I used to have with my friends back then playing. Now I feel old!
