Recently I finally acquired a Saturn game I was looking to get for a long time, but it was never a main priority. I hadn't even play the games much in the past, but the chance to have all 3 of them on one disc was too much to pass up on.

Capcom Generation 2.

Ghosts N Goblins, Ghouls N Ghosts, Super Ghouls N Ghosts.

These 3 classics from Capcom... I sat down to play them and I was stuck on playing all 3 games for a long time. No matter how hard it got (VERY hard, mind you) I kept playing and I *loved* every second of it. I haven't had that much fun with gaming in forever. In fact, I dare say it "woke up my gaming domancy." (if that last word is a real word, lol)

I know those old games have somewhat clunky controls and outdated visuals, but it is strangely outlandishly tremendous fun! I just went out and purchased Maximo: Ghosts to Glory for the PS2 today for $7.99.

I'd highly recommend Capcom Generation 2 to any avid Saturn fan.

Super Gouls and Ghosts was amazing when it first came out on the SNES.

So was Ghouls n' Ghost when it was released on the MegaDrive/Genesis.

I still can't get over Loki, the last boss in the game. Sitting atop his throne... naked.

BTW, Knives rock! :buttrock: It's like the holy water of Castlevania in this game.

Also, one thing I don't like about Super Ghouls N' Ghost is, you can't shoot straight up like in Ghouls N' Ghost.

Anyway, some overall good stuff from Capcom.

It's dormancy, but yeah, it's a real word. :)

Anyway, I totally agree with you about this series. I first began my masochistic relationship with them way back when the NES was popular (Ghosts n' Ghoblins). That game was TOUGH, but somehow I never got frustrated enough to quit, and eventually did end up beating the game. What really fucking sucked was when you beat the game with a weapon besides the crosses, and they want you to go back through the whole thing again. :oh_no:

Anyway, yeah, I love 'em all. Classic stuff from Capcom. To me, as a gamer, these were every bit as important as the Mega Man series - I loved them that much.

not dated at all! I have that saturn game and the snes cart too for good measure. Playing it on the snes is mind blowing. the music is incredible - especially on the second stage. Devilishly hard but its perfect for the theme. its pure evil. love at first sight.

Ahhh the G&G serise that was made,to test your skill. Beside makeing any one have a fit of mad rage just trying to finsh it. All so for punishing you to,start over agian if you didn't have the right weapon on the last boss. Still a classic in it's own right for it's astmosphere, music and it's game play. That push you to your limit's.

I still like to see a up date,to G&G for the current consoles. I guess Capcom is just satisfied with, Maximo for the time being.

So true. Being a huge fan of the Genesis version, I remember being somewhat horriified when I first played the SNES Super GNG and discovering that you couldn't shoot up (or down)...kind of felt helpless in a way. But then, the game introduced the double jump technique.

Still though, the original Ghouls N Ghosts rules in my book. Ghosts N Goblins and Super GNG rank 2nd and 3rd respectively. Great games nonetheless!

Up until about 3 years ago I had only played the Genny and NES version. Those were great, and SNES one is OK, but I liked the others better. Capcom was genious in that game.

Still one of the best series ever. Loved the first two in the arcade, and the SuperNES one still blows my mind with it's utterly fucking amazing soundtrack.

They don't make 'em like that anymore. So much personality, energy and tough-as-nails gameplay. The very definition of classic.

Just a reminder of how far Capcom has fallen.... :crying:
