Where to buy replacement PlayStation 2 cases? (+ EB rant)

I am so fucking pissed off at EB right now. I go in there today to buy a PC microphone and as I'm checking out, I see a deal to get a strategy guide for one cent with any purchase. "Great deal!" I think. The only guide they had was for Maximo VS. Army of Zin. I didn't have the game, but for a penny I'll take it. I ask the guy how much the actual game would be and it was $30 new. I liked the first Maximo and so I guessed I'll go ahead and get it. I was kind of in a hurry and didn't really get a chance to examine it until I got home. The seals are broken, shrinkwrap is gone and I had to peel off multiple stickers. The case was in pretty banged up shape to begin with and now it's covered in sticky crap. I couldn't use a hairdryer to get the stickers off, because it would warp the plastic. I now remember hearing something about this, but I kind of forgot about it.

As you can imagine, I'm really, really pissed off. Does anyone know where I can find replacement PS2 cases? Not just DVD cases, because I want to have the memory card holder. Official cases, if they're available, please.

Thanks in advance.

Man a ps2 game is nothing to give yourself a heart attack over.
Always have a spare bottle of goo gone ready.

I'm interested in knowing this myself. I've always just found dirt cheap used PS2 games ( under $5 ) with good cond. cases and bought them just for the case.

It's just that when I pay for a new item, I expect it to be flawless. It's like playing Russian roulette with these people. I bought a Metal Slug 3 (Xbox) from them a while back. It had the same crap, but nothing was really damaged, so I thought nothing of it. Why would they even do this? It doesn't seem to have any good points, it just makes me want to murder their employees.

And, yes, I do need some goo gone. The case was also pretty scuffed up.

Sorry to hear that..

Now no matter what due to EBs crap they pull inspect everything before I leave the store.

I had several replacement PS2 boxes that I got from a dumpster dive find.. but I used them for circumstances like yours.

I would attempt to take it back to the same guy that sold it to you in the first place..with an explanation/remember me,you sold me this,it was supposed to be new-sealed.
When he denies it ask for a manager and get loud....They don't like loud in the store and most likely will give you another.

Otherwise I'd say go back to EB and but the cheapest PS2 game you can find(Sports Title)..and use that case..
You should be able to find one in a nice case..At least at the EB in Willowbrook Mall I know this is possible.
They have tons of used cheap games.
Or,they might even give you an empty case...I've found some EB employees that might be nice enough to do that for you.

If you found a empty case otherwise It'll probaly cost the same as a cheap used game.

A few weeks ago I saw a guy at the Flea Market who had 2 full Crates of Empty Xbox & PS2 cases..
I was in a rush and figured I'd catch him the next time...Well I didn't(I Missed Out)

GAME UK, who took over the EB's here, have taken things a step further by putting the price sticker under the plastic, actually on the insert. Not only that, they defraud the bar code with marker pen, draw on the inside of the case and on the manual. Only on 2nd hand stuff mind you.

I think these might be the official cases. Not bad prices.
Not only that, but they also have the green Xbox cases and GameCube cases with the proper size disc holders. :buttrock:
I recommend stacking up on those for situations like this.

Same thing happened to me twice yesterday. I bought ESPN NFL 2k5(XBOX), and Gradius III & IV(PS2) both new and I happen to get the last copy in the store of both. They had stickers, and a wrinkled insert on Gradius, but I understood as I got the display copy of both. A little goo gone, and the stickers and gunk are no more, and I'll live with a little wrinkle in the insert.

Nah man, gamestop/EB are a nightmare.
I recently bought a "new" PD Orta and it wasnt sealed. Has stickers on the disc and shit, and there aint nothing I can do about the manual..
Its a pain in the ass.
If it aint virgin sealed and its new, its not truly new, and most likely molested. Best to buy from commercial area's.

What drives me crazy is when I'm hunting around for used Genesis/SNES/N64 carts and they put all kinds of price stickers and crap all over the goddammed cart label. I've passed on otherwise good finds because it's such a bitch to get the stickers and crap off without damaging the labels.
