No shit... yet I remain a fan none the less... I'm like a battered wife who waits for her drunk husband to come home night after night...

Serves the morons right. Do you ever wonder why Yankee fans are so happy? It's just knowing that no matter how much George tries to muck up the team, the Yanks will never have the problems faced annually by the Red Sux nation.

Truthfully, I feel sorry for Red Sox fans. Some of the most devoted fans in all of sports. But when will you meatheads ever learn? Just pull the damned Band-Aid off already! Faster is better!

They traded Steve Finley and Brent Mayne to the Dodgers for 3 AAA players. They could have gotten 3 AAA, Guillermo Mota and Juan Encarnacion if Randy Johnson accepted the deal, but I guess for him, it was Yankees, or D-Backs.

I read that Nomar was in the last year of his contract, and wouldn't have re-signed - so it was a matter of 'get what you can now, or nothing' for the Sox.

I don't think even they would be so stupid to trade away one of their 2 franchise players for practically nothing...

Of course not. It was nearly a lock that Nomar was leaving at the end of the season, he was requesting to go back on the DL in August, he was clearly unhappy, and his unhappiness was affecting the locker room. All of these reasons made it a good move for the Sox to trade him now and use this opportunity to shore up the defense. I just wish we could have got some pitching as well.

All that said, i'm still sad to see Nomar go. He will go down as one of the best and most popular Red Sox in the long history of the club. I hope he's happier wherever he ends up.

Nomar is only good for the half a season he's healthy, he's really no great loss. While they're at it, they should trade Pedro, he's the same way. Super talent doesn't mean shit when you're on the DL more than you play.

Don't feel bad Red Sox fans, I'm from Atlanta, so I'll get to see the Braves win yet another division title then choke in the post-season again.

PS- know what the "A" on the Braves' caps stands for ???......
