OMG Extended version. :drool_2:

I wonder how much longer it will be!!!!

The original runtime before the cuts were made was close to 260-270 minutes.

What cuts? Was the movie cut in the theatres, and/or the current DVD release?

You mean to tell me that the full version of ROTK would be 4 Hours and 20 Minutes????

They cut every version before it went to theaters for time, and added the footage back in for the DVDs.

A good chunk of the battle in the Pelennor Fields near the end was cut, I hear somewhere around 15-25 minutes. There's also the battle between Gandolf and the Witch King that was sent to the cutting room floor. And like the previous two extended versions, there'll be about 30 minutes of shortend/deleted scenes that lend themselves well to the overall storytelling, but ultimately had to be cut for time. But yes, count on watching a 4 hr+ Return of the King later this year.

Even the 1st one? on the Movie Network when I watched the 1st one, it was 3 hours long, and I checked the DVD Trilogy out in a store, and on the DVD it is 3 Hours as well.

I know the 2nd one had 45 Minutes added to the DVD, but this news of a 4+ hour ROTK, that is OMG worthy.

 I am SOO buying the new Trilogy set when it comes out, thank god I didn't buy the current trilogy, this one will be so much better!

11+ hours for the whole set, it's going to be a whole day to watch it all, back to back!!!
