Maybe Moore will help sway voters away from Bush, but if you're a liberal and you ever have to deal with serious conservatives, he's just an embarassment. I feel bad that we have to have such a disgraceful idiot as the poster boy for liberal politics in America... He probably could make a great movie without any of this crap. Why does he do it? You'd like to think he'd have a case without sneaky use of doctored imagery... Shame on Michael Moore. And then you have Ebert telling America that this is a documentary... Bleh. Most of the film is probably true, but I wish Moore would shut the hell up already. He just makes liberals look bad...

Yeah, but Ebert's still right. It's a documentary.

The most powerful stuff in moore's film wasn't any of that crap anyway. Bush damns Bush better than Moore ever could. Moore is, for the most part, a comedian. While I'd never use Moore as backup in an argument, I wonder if anybody can contest Bush's reaction when first hearing of the planes hitting the world trade center, or him spenign more time on vacation than any other president.

Granted, Moore is just spoon-feeding this to the public the way that FOX news has been spoon-feeding neocon propoganda for years, but compared to FOX news daily run, Moore's more of a loud footnote.

those pussies are just pissed cuz he used their paper...
they did say that it was written in the paper, just not on the front page.
moore was using that as nothing more than a tactic to make a point in the film.
it really sickens me to see this.

and to think, moore was right about the 'fictional' president, and the 'fictional weapons of mass destruction' all along.

meh...i say good job mr. moore, and keep up the good work.

Other post edited, I must say the MVS thing was kinda funny, I dug my own hole for that. But back on the topic of Moore, everything in the movie was edited BS, Moore managed to manipulate anything anyone said and make it sound as though they were criticizing Bush. I mean, he bitches about Bush not doing anything for SEVEN WHOLE MINUTES after he first heard about 9/11, while he was reading to kids in an elementary school. Moore even bitched about not being allowed to enter the Iraqi embassy, because you know, they'd really allow a shady guy with a camera to freely roam the place. He should be arrested for terrorist propaganda.

You'll have to forgive me, but I think a competent president would jump up the moment he heard the nation might be under some kind of threat. I think Reagan would have. I think Bush Snr. would have. I think Clinton would have. I think Dole would have. I think Gore would have.

There's only one guy out in the cold here, too busy reading "My Friend the Goat" to act like a leader.

I know when I heard the World Trade Center had been hit, I didn't just sit around, but scrambled to contact people I knew form out east. Bush, he reads children's books.

No one needed Moore to tell them that Bush's administration was fucking things up. It was all over the news. All you had to do was get exposed to any news program a few times a month. Moore just makes any person who thinks for himself look silly. I have always voted for the democrats and I plan on doing so again, but I'd be surprised if there weren't at least a few things in Moore's film which are way off base. People need this idiot to feed them propaganda when all you ever needed was a few simple undebatable facts such as, "We violated the UN".

Meh, fuck the UN. They are so pitifully slow and mired in bureaucracy that they make the federal government look efficient by comparison. People tend to have an unfounded belief that the UN is somehow less prone to yeilding to special interests, all the while they are yeilding to just about any and all special interests, and are ladden with scandals (e.g. food for oil) and utterly ridiculous policies (Libya was at one point on the anti-terrorism committee).

As for Moore, there have been many articles outlining his manipulation of the facts, so I won't beat that horse. The only thing he's really doing to succeed in doing is to drive away intelligent swing voters who may otherwise have considered the democratic ticket a viable option. But whatever, the election outcome doesn't really mean all that much at this point anyway. Different face, same old routine.

Other countries don't care about US political nuances all that much. All they see is that the US has played a central role in helping enforce UN resolutions in the past and that as soon as we don't get our way, we ignore them. It makes us look like we think we rule the world. It's just terrible for our standing in the international community. When you factor in the fact that the CIA and such admitted to having faulty data and whatnot, it's a pretty damn good reason to not vote for this administration. We want to show the world now that we don't approve of this mess, not that we are all for it... I will seriously fear for our country if we reelect Bush...

Anyway, I see what you mean, dm. But I think the UN destroyed its own validity as a rational governing body when they failed to act according to the resolution that they themselves had passed. I don't think they ever would have done anything to Saddam - too many countries in the UN had too much interest in seeing him survive.

Well, I have to agree with galfordo on one thing.
Food for Oil is a horrible, horrible insult.

It's cruel.

I doubt anyone dislikes Moore simply because he expresses his opinion.

I give you a shitload of credit, because those words were so true and beautiful to my eyes. The UN is a joke,Too inspired by "making peace" than actually caring about what the fuck is going on.Then again, this is my opinion, so if you have flames, tell it to someone who actually gives a fuck.
