I'm just wondering, have you been back to playing again, or has it stop completly?

I haven't played a sinlge game in all July I look at my systems and games, and I have no interest in playing them...
It's a weird feeling..
I use to get excited about new games, and I was really looking forward to D3 and now it's like......
It's weird, I use to love playing games, specially Silent HIll 3, and then I just stoped playing it..
I didnt even got that far, and I was really interested when it came out....
Just a few days ago, I bough a GBS SP system and Zelda, to get back into playing my portable RPG's (sword of mana) and I turn it on for about 2 min and turn it back off, then i pick the GBA and Mario Vs DK and play it for about 1min and off again, Shit not even Ninja Gaiden get's my attention...
I use to love playing my saturn when ever I was down, or got into a fight with the wife, Dracula X was always there, and Now I don't even take it out of the box..
I have though about selling all my games and system, and maybe fix up my car or get a truck or something, but then I don't do it, cause I'm afraid I'll go back...

So any of you guys that lost interest in gaming....Has it come back?
Or did you guys just moved on?

PS...I'm 27 so I know it's not and age thing, or is it?

I suggest that you pick up Steam Hearts for the PC Engine. From what I can gather thus far it's a vertical shooter in which you fly around in a powerful mech-like craft, battle with sexy anime bitches in other powerful mech-like crafts, and upon defeating them you get to rape them and move on to the next stage.

It will cure you.

All I want to play are real old games on MAME, like Atari from the early 80s or Taito from the early 90s... Nothing else has even sort of sparked my interest lately. I played Black Widow last night for about 3 hours... than Played about an hour of Rastan 3. That's more than I've played in a long time. Still gaming on a whole is pretty meh for me at the moment.

You need to start playing DDR,

or some other music game.

Those are fun and very different.

I can't afford DDR so I just blast techno and play Twister. It's not quite a video game but it's pretty much the same thing.

After a 2month hiatus, I finally decided to pop in a video game again.

I decided to play my Saturn of all my systems. Actually, i've been craving the 32-bit games lately. That goes away really fast, though.

I should power up the cabs at least.

Anyway, Basketball(Street Ball is more like it) and going on dates have occupied my time more these days.

What I really want to do is plan a vacation before College starts in September. I think i'll just save all my gaming moments when the RAIN hits Seattle again this Fall.

I find myself more on the comp(Neo Geo boards) than playing any game.

I think i'll never go back to playing games longer than an hour. Those days are long gone.

You should try Twister Moves, it's like twister but you play a cd in the background by Justin Timberlake or New Kids on the Block or something.

No. I draw the line right before it reaches full-on gay.

Loss of interest ? Yeah, on next-Gen consoles yes. Very few titles inspires me to play.

Tired of playing ? No way José !
There's always our marvelous 16-Bit consoles.

I play KOF98 daily :)

I know the antidote for for G.A.S.
two-words:

Online RPG.
You won't worry about how gaming sucks because that's the only game you'll ever need.

Try Wario Ware on GBA, or, if you actually have friends, Wario Ware party games on GC.

But I know what you mean. All I've been playing is FFXI and FFV lately, with a little SS0S throan in the mix here and there.

Things will kick into high gear the next few months with:
Halo2
Fable
Metal Gear Solid 3
Star Ocean III
Silent Hill 4

PS...I'm 27 so I know it's not an age thing, or is it?
I'm 28, and I'm afraid it is. Once you are a certain age, no matter how "hardcore" you were, you slide into the abyss of the just-above-casual-gamer. The responsibilities and concerns of everyday life suddenly come into play. Games you grew up with aren't made anymore, so nothing is new and exciting.

I agree completely with GregN- I was burnt out on games for about 6 months, and finally I went out and bought an RPG- Front Mission 4. I played the thing like 3 hours each day after work until I beat it, and now I've moved back to my Neo and Saturn for all my old favorites. I think I'll go hit up teh SS3 right now.

I'm 28, and my interest has sorta fallen off a little bit, but never dropped to zero. There have always been a few staple games that I can always count on for good, simple, clean fun that never really grows old. (Neo Turfmasters, The Raiden Project, Strikers 1945 Plus, etc.) My interest in fighting games has taken a little bit of a hit though lately. :(

Hmm... while I haven't ceased playing games, I'm definitely not playing them like I used to.

But I think this is because I just haven't been getting any quality stuff to sink my teeth into lately. My most recent purchases were Bokan To Ippatsu Doronboo Kanpekiban(Saturn) and Galaxy Fight (Saturn), in fact, I think the last true "gem" I bought was Blast Wind (Saturn), and that was... 2 months ago or so. Sheesh.

I have lost my interest in games altogether. I like the neo, I like games, but there is nothing new that interests me any longer. I even have resorted to selling one of my cabinets and I told myself that I never would. I really want to sell it because I really don't turn it on any longer.

Damn, when you said D3 my heart jumped, thinking you were taking about a third game in Warp's "D" series.

But then I realized you were talking about Doom 3.

DAMN YOU DOOM 3!!!!!!

It's a matter of prospective. For me, games today have taken a back seat and serve the purpose THEY SHOULD SERVE (to me anyhow). That being, a fun diversion/hobby in your spare time.... something you might whip up after going home from a long day of work or spending time with your cousins or girlfriend.

It's no longer a "Oh, I'll spend my Saturday night playing Super Mario Brothers!" thing. It's now just a "oh I'm home with nothing else to do... let's play this or that."

Once you overanalyze, you make it a bigger deal than it really is, IMHO. Just enjoy the games when you have the time, and don't read into it too much. Hell I still very much so love my Saturn and its games. But if you really can't play your games anymore, 2K2... maybe you should just sell some of it and use the money on something more productive and meaningful to you yourself.

I've stopped awhile ago.
I think it's that overwhelming feeling of too much and apathetic thoughts
to which is the "best" to occupy my time with.
I'll end up picking something different and occupying my time with that for about
30 minutes and start watching tv afterwards.
It's a shame but true.
I'm pretty much done with collecting for the NEO, DC, nintendo, genny and snes.
I'm just thinking about moving onto turbo stuff when I start getting my cash flow
back again.

this usually happens when a nerd gets his first taste of the possibility of getting "pussy", it's usually triggered by grabbing a tit, making out with a chick (even a fat chick counts), and the result is he realizes videogames are fucking boring compared.

Lately I've been having an "on again, off again" type of interest cycle as far as gaming is concerned.

I seem to enjoy reading/talking about about the industry more than gaming. I also like just browsing through the games aisles in Best Buy to see what's new. Though, Full Spectrum Warrior has got my interest at the moment. That and trying to complete my Metal Slug MVS collection.

Nothing much after that.
