94: loads only at the beggining of the stage (no loads between rounds)

97: horrible long loads between rounds

I don't remember about 95-96, but they load between rounds too, I think.

You would probably be better off taking the money you were going to spend on the NeoGeo CD and building yourself a NeoGeo to USB controller adapter, buying an old style NG controller, and just playing the NGCD games you buy on an emulator on your PC. You get the full experience and there's no load time that way, plus you don't have to worry about your NGCD system crapping out on you. Just my two cents.

Don't come with that NGCD emu crap. It's far from being perfect, you'll only get some load time benefits and a bunch of lame-ass cheat options for the cost of missing/buggy line scrolling, flaws in sprite scaling, improper plane switching, palette problems, sound inaccuracies (up to a point where wrong samples are being played, for ex. a voice sample where a shooting noise should be heard, etc.), and more good stuff.

The core NGCD emu project, started by a few french guys a couple of years ago, has been canned already, and that since quite a while now. Nobody wanted to to properly maintain it so far, it, only a bunch of talentless h4XX0rS who fucked with the code, so chances for the long overdue update are almost zero. The whole damn thing basically needs a radical re-design... welcome to one year+ dev time.

IMO, compared to other games, KoF97 loads just fine.

Quality, folks, QUALITY, for FUCKS' SAKE! Isn't that worth a few secs of load times??

God, I hope I don't have to read such dribble when I have a bad day... :annoyed:

Thanks, and now back to your emu, hush hush.

I own an AES, thanks, but I have tried out NGCD games on the actual console and on an emulator, and I will take the emulator. I am very impatient person, so anything that cuts down the time it takes to play the game is fine by me. Of course, like I mentioned, I would just get what I want to play for my AES for no load times and a better overall feel, and I guess that would be my recommendation in the end: get the AES and forget about anything else.

since we're all throwing dough into the till, I'll add my two bits...

KOF 95 & 96 are definitely worth having on NEOCD, the awesome Arranged Music and very tolerable load times make them more than worth it, and this is after comparing the CD and Cart versions to each other...any KOF after that starts to get into rougher load times and Cart is probably the better way to go...

now I understand many people's frustration with long load times, but like I always tell you guys...

a nice set of cold brews by your feet are the perfect thing to pass any length of loading time
:drool_2:

once I started using this method back in college, my roommate and I had a blast swigging a brew and talking smack about what we'd bring into the next round...

'94 loads at begening of fights..No outher loads.
'95-99 load after each player is eleminated.
It can get tiresom but it's really not as bad as people say.
SS3-4 are livable..bout 15 seconds between fights.
Come to think about it most of the fighters you can expect 10 to 15 second load times.
It seems bad at first but we found things that help make it ok.
Talking smack, quick review of the move list, geting A soda, take A leak, ect ect ect...
It's not that bad, Once you get used to it you don't even notice any more.
