Sounds like a lot of "If Saddam does..." stuff, none of which he aparently did. But yeah, politicians will base their statements on the shifting winds of public opinion. No party has a monopoly on this. It doesn't even disappoint me anymore.

True. All you have to do to figure out what a politician's values will be this week is to ask the pollster what will give him the most public support. It's the business equivalent of cold hard cash.
