Yep, I'll have this little game in my hands in about 6 hours!
Should I even bother giving my impressions though? No use I suppose.
EDIT: Here's the review;
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
OK, a review folks:
Graphics: 10
Never Before have I laid eyes upon such a glorious Cacaphony of 2D goodness. I expected the graphics to be nice, but I wasn't ready for just how nice. The Backgrounds are wonderful, and the characters big and colorful I expected there to be some loss of Frames to keep the game running smoothly. I was wrong: absolutly ZERO frames of animation are missing from each character! 4 players at once, and the game never, NEVER chugs or slows down. Even with all the effects happening at once, and there are plenty of them!
If you think the PS2 can't handle 2D, than you must see this game. Oh, and the loading is just as fast as a two player game! No, really!
Sound FX: 9
More usual GG goodness. The FX stand out well, and do a great job connecting the hits with a nice bit of aural reward.
Music: 10
Well, if you love Melodic Metal, or the other tunes in GG, you'll love this! Again, A.S.H. Does a fantastic job of interweaving Barouqe and Romantisism into a great tapastry of Educated Metal for your ears. Compositions like "The Irony of Chaste" demonstrate the groups love and knowledge of the music language.
Simply perfection.
Control: 10
Imagine the fine control of GGXX #Reload, and bring it over to Isuka, and you have an idea of how exact the control is. Perfect connection between player and on screen alter-ego, Isuka takes the Idea of 1 to 4-player 2-D mayhem and does it to perfection. The turn-around button is a genius idea, letting you make accurate use of your special moves while also moving between 2 planes on the field. It's very easy to get the hang of, and soon becomes very, very intuitive. It's especially helpful in the Boost mode, allowing you to do anything on the Beat-Em-Up field!
Gameplay: 10
Perfect balance, lots of modes from 1 on 1 to 4 player free for all, and the Boost mode makes for an incredible experience. No to mention the Build-your own Robo Ky that can be used in Boost Mode. I especially like the co-op 2 VS. 2 matches. Plenty to unlock, such as new characters, and the EX modes return as well. You never feel over-powered, even when it's three on one: the damage is balanced between the characters, so the guy getting all the heat actually has a chance.
Beautiful!
Overall: 10
Yeah, I love it that much. It's almost transcendental, and the mayhem actually isn't confusing as you go. Simply put: This game is groovy. I almost feel as if the Boost mode was made just for me. I honestly would buy the game just for that! Fun as hell, and deep enough to keep you comming back even after you've unlocked everything! I honestly, never thought this game would be this much of a joy!
Bravo Arc System Works. Bravo!
