Did anyone elese get an email from paypal about this lawsuit going on? For anyone who registered back between 1999-2002 will be eligable for payout on the suit. It looked legit since it was an actual Paypal email address and I would have expected something like this to come up with their shady business practice, like not allowing people access to their own money in the paypal account.

If it pays out mote than the $5 I got when I signed up and then promptly forgot the password, I'm in.

/me checks his spam email account for paypal notices.

I'm pretty sure I'm eligable, but for how much? I tried reading that e-mail this morning but it was just too daunting.

Even though I have yet to be dicked over by Paypal, if there's free money to be had and they're flipping the bill, I'm there.

Meh, Paypal's been pretty fair to me - so I don't feel like I'm entitled to anything from them.

these class action suits pay out like 10 bucks per person, it's more just to make an example of the company and their bad business practices. save your time.

I have to agree with the majority here. They were fair to me and got me my money back when I had trouble with a transaction... I don't think it would be fair to dick them now. However, this is a class action law suit, so... the same amount of money is being paid out regardless... so whether I get some of it or not is moot. I still think from a principal standpoint I wouldn't do it.

i've lost money twice because paypal can be fecking useless

lost 330usd and around 100usd

they need tighter control over their members, something in the way that if you genuinely scammer you get your money back

I got the email too.

I don't expect much from the settlement. 9.25 million divided by millions of users = free cup of joe.

Um, when was the $5 deal going on?

I'm trying to pinpoint when I might've signed up. I can't, for the life of me, remember when I did.

Hmmmm... very strange.

This is funny...

I just had a friend over who warned me of an e-mail pertaining to Paypal. He said the letter looks authentic and contains a Paypal URL that redirects you to a different server. He also said you have to log into your account according to what is written in the e-mail.

You have to log into your account to complete the form, right? Maybe it’s just a hair-raising coincidence, but then again....

Edit: Has anyone tried the Paypal link found in the e-mail?

I started thinking that myself.

I've been to the site. I look around to see if I notice anything suspicious.

I did the wise thing and sent an email to PayPal. We'll know if it's a phishing scam or not as soon as they reply to my email.

I received it as well. I opened up a new browser/browser window. I cancelled the cookies,it appeared to be real and then I closed the browser window as it attempted to redirect me.
I would have appreciated a letter sent to my home.. SHAME on PayPal for sending this via e-mail in this age of endless SPOOF messages.
With that being stated,I'm going to do absolutely nothing. I reda that you can remove your name from the class action suit,blah..blah..blah....
The only ones who win in these types of lawsuits are the attorneys. :annoyed:

Got the same email from them as well...it is legitimate however there's a ton of hoops to go through for the sake of a couple of dollars. My history with PAyPal has been spotless so I won't take the time to fill out the forms ;)

One of my credit card companies had the same thing happen to them. Result...there was a 56 cent credit added to my account :eek_2:

I got this email this morning and just deleted it. I've never had any problems with Paypal and I'm sure it wouldn't be worth my time anyway.

I got the email myself today. I don't think I'll be taking part as Paypal's been pretty cool with me as well.

I never got an e-mail... even though I fit the criteria....

Then again, I wouldn't participate either, as I haven't had any problems with PayPal...

Now, BidPay is a whole different story... :mad_2:
