Fatguy's link to www.vgmusic.com made me think about all the great video game themes out there. So, anyway, just post your top 2 video game themes (preferably with links to the songs, since there are usually a few different versions).

Ok, here are my top 2 (the aquatic theme from DKC is so good it brings a tear to my eye :crying: )

1) "Aquatic Theme" - Donkey Kong Country

DKC Aquatic Theme

2) "Maridia (drifting sand area)" - Super Metroid

Ys Book 2 - "To Make the End of Battle"
Akumajou Dracula X: Chi no Rondo - "Cross a Fear"

What can I say, I love 80s-style Japanese MIDI cock-rock game soundtracks.

1. Mihata no Moto Ni - Sakura Taisen 3 Opening

2. Tina's Theme/Overworld theme - Final Fantasy VI

There is no way in hell of providing a MP3 or whatnot to the first one, and you've probably already heard the second anyway.

The Brinstar music in Super Metroid. I could listen to that looped for days.

Also, I can listen to just about any music from a Final Fantasy game.

Moon Stage- Duck Tales (GB)
NES Version Moon Stage
176th Street (Fatal Fury Team) - KOF'99 (AST)

Edit: Went looking for links to help Galfordo out. Duck Tales'Game Boy version isn't listed and KOF'99 themes are scarce. That and VGMusic is really, really unorganized.

Have you heard Terry's theme from the 3-D Fatal Fury? It's similar and also really good.

I've heard it. I've got the game stowed away right now. The KOF version just has a better group feel to it. It brings back the good memories of being in Saxophone master class...instead of when the instructor called us out to play individually. :crying:

PLEASE POST LINKS FOR YOUR SONGS

Can you guys edit your posts and put up some links for your choices? My hope was that this thread would serve as an easy way for people to access cool songs that they may never had heard before (or my have forgotten).

Anyway, please post links if you could - or, if there's a site that has these songs on it that'll work too.
