I don't have that problem at all, what version of Safari are you running? The only problem I have is with PHP chat... it has refresh problems.

I've never had any speed issues with Safari unless the site I was visiting was clogged with visitors (such as tsn.ca on deadline days, etc.) or my internet was acting up.

Is this a persistent issue with your browser? How are other sites?
Check your updates, and make sure everything is as new as it can be.

The only problem I have is if I have all the smilies on the screen at one time as I'm writing a reply...

That seems to affect a lot of people, regardless of browser.
I think there was a thread on this in the Suggestions forum, so I guess we'll see what happens.
Back to the speed issue, try switching the User Agent that Safari uses from Automatically Chosen to a specific one (IE in its various incarnations, Netscape, Konqueror, etc.)

Yea it is all the animated images... Would be nice to have the list cut down I think, but I am sure there are some that would disagree with that for sure.

Well I'll tell you right now that it's nothing to do with Safari or OSX because I use them and it's fine... Maybe you have an old computer? I dunno.

Same here, can't use the chat section but the forum just works great.

Yea, G4 400mhz. But it is plenty of machine to handle animated gifs... tried it in firefox and it was alot faster. That may be the answer for some out there having slowdown problems. I would rather see fewer icons and smiles, but I am sure that is not happening...

The only issue I've really had with Safari and this board is that it only animates one of a given animated GIF at the same time. For example, if you had two of the :eye: :eye: icons, only the last one would be moving. Other than that, I've had no real problems with Safari and N-G.com

hmm, thatts damn'd annoying. I'm still getting a heavy lag when I type in the message post window. I was hoping that it wasn't just my machine.

I'm running a dual g4 ghz with 1.5 gigs of ram and panther. this is the only site that I have trouble with . Snk-capcom sems to use a simular system and it works great. damn.

I use 10.2.8 and have no problems - Safari is a bit slower, but Firefox runs perfectly with no lag in message typing, and I've got a 4-year old Mac (Pismo G3 400).
