MOTW review

I have nothing against the score or anything; if that's your opinion, that's your opinion. What gets me is the line in the second paragraph of "Gameplay":

In short, if you are better, you ALWAYS win.

Now, maybe I'm naive or something, but I thought that was the idea in competitive recreational activity (games, sports, etc.): The better man wins. To knock a game for not "handicapping" so that a n00b can win via dumb luck or having the champ's controller randomly lock up or something is a little bit dumb. Maybe this guy isn't that good at this game?

Yeah I read that review a long time ago and I remember that line sticking out to me as well... hehe, guess they are pissed they can't just jam buttons and win like in Marvel Vs Capcom 2...

The GameFaqs writers are a real gem, eh?

I know I hate any game I can't win by pounding my fist randomly into the gamepad...

Any game I can't beat that way has horrible gameplay... :)

He said he wants big explosions and supers, and bashes it for requiring skill!(priceless)

Maybe he should learn the pont of a FIGHTING game is to beat down the other oppopnent. If he wants big explosions why doesn't he just play almost any VERTICEL(spelling? :) OR HORIZONTAL SHOOTER!

I wonder if that's another Glucose Joe (neo games suck because I play them on my 486) review. I hate it when emu users think they know an arcade game just because people propagate BS like arcade perfect emulation.

"In a market as saturated as the 2d fighter genre, it's important to stand out. Marvel vs. Capcom and KOF 99 are great examples of 2d. The fast speeds and the flashy moves are what drive the games."

Maybe its just me, but the DC version of KOF 99 was never fast, and had comparably flashy moves to Garou. Hell, this guys a dumbass. You know he wrote this while doing a Cable infinite.

Exactly what I was thinking... I bet this guy's favorite fighter is Marvel vs. Crapcom 2, that has some ultra supers in it.. but the game is too fast and stupid, you hardly need skill.

He said " I still like the game, it's just not my idea of what 2d should be. "

HAHA , I wonder what his idea of 2D is ?

Mark of the Wolves is seriously lacking in supers. Each character has two, and while they're better than normal moves, they certainly don't feel ''Super.'' Potential Powers (or Level 2 Supers to the SF crowd) are more powerful and sometimes more glitzy versions of the regular supers. Obviously there's two each of these as well. None of them are hard to pull off, you'll see what I mean. With Supers taking one bar of power and Potentials needing two, it is certainly upsetting that you can only hold two bars.

The guys in not only a dumbass but a complete dumbass. Some characters do have more than 2 supers. Look at Dong Hwan, Rock Howard, etc. And some of the supers in MOTW are some of the flashiest supers I ever seen in a game. I guess if hes not throwing fireballs and lasers that take up the whole damn screen then its not flashy. By flashy I guess he wants blinding lights for 8 seconds and not extreme cool martial art combos.

This MarkOfTheWolves is insanity. Why would you play fighting games if not to flatten your opponent? I thought we, fighting games fans, were supposed to beat either the CPU or our friends during funny and entertaining matches. Well, maybe I'm wrong...

*grabs his head in his hands* Ooooh Lord, what have I done?!! Oooh, forgive me, Father, I have sinned!

*low infernal voice* Thou Shall Never Sin Agaiiiiiiiiiiiinnn!!!
