yep, in the right hands she can really be nasty...I actually got someone into using her this past winter...as I watched his skills improve with her both against the CPU and human challengers, her potential for delivering a nasty spanking became pretty evident...not to mention counter characters like her have moves that just scream owned when unleashed on a careless opponent...

Yeah, she's bad ass, I'm still trying to learn the best ways to use her though.

I fucking hate her when she's in the hands of the level 8 cpu. She cancels just about every single special AND SUPER you throw at her with her little judo grabs and throws  Never played against any real person using her.

Yeah, I love her in 99 and can't wait to try her in SVCC. This is my B&B combo:

Close C or D, fwd+A, (cancel last hit into)hcb+A, qcfx2+A

You can add on more hits with strikers (I like to knock over the enemy, call Iori, and start comboing as they get hit by Iori's attack). This is my B&B in KOF 99.

Does anyone know if that combo works in Chaos?

I really like her in AOF3, but couldn't ever get into her in the KOFs. Funny, as I love the "technical" characters like Geese, Mary, Seth, and so on. Why can't I like this one outside of AOF?

Maybe because she is AWFUL in KOF? It's just too fast to use her properly. :/ In AOF, she just seemed like a 2D Aoi. But I still liked her.

And I wouldn't touch SVC with a ten foot pole.

Hmm, not my style, but she's not bad. I prefer to watch others play her than to use her myself, though.

here's what i do, with MAX bar...

C -> f+A -> qcb+C x2[cancel] hcb,f+C [cancel] qcb+C x2[cancel] hcb,f+C [cancel] qcf+C
its a bit hard to pull off... and it isnt that powerful... its just for show., it looks cool

anyhows...

ive been playin SVC in the arcades using Kasumi, and for the first time... "veterans" line up to challenge me! and i always win! and i now have a crowd (meaning, people watchin' me play),

i never liked SVC myself, but dunno, Kasmui rulz hehe...
(i wish she returns in KOF)

No offense intended to anyone, but with the possible exception of AOF3, Kasumi has always been very strong and very easy to use.

She's like a slightly less stupid-looking Kensou. Very strong, easy-to-use characters that aren't popular because they look like idiots. The few people who play Kensou and Kasumi sometimes mistakenly think they require incredible skill to play, and that no one plays them because they're too hard for everyone else to use. Real reason is that very few people want to play characters that look as stupid as Kensou and Kasumi.

Don't take my word for it, try playing Kensou in any KOF after 96, and Kasumi in any KOF to see how strong they are. (Especially Kasumi in 96 and Kensou in 97, 98, 99. Kensou was also decent in '94 and pretty strong in '95, '96 was his only off-year.) Then go to your local arcade (if you have one) and see how few people actually play those characters (as opposed to Iori, Mai, Clark, etc).

I thought Kasumi in 2k was pretty average. Had her far standing B infinite on Chang during counter mode.

Totally Agree...
and that's why you can surprise many with these char's abilities... and you'll leave them with a "I didnt know he/she could do that!" expression...

to also be honest... Iori users makes me sick... but no offense... i know he's a good charcter, but some people get in to KOF and start playing with Iori, and never leave... they stick to him like he's the ONLY character in the game (and Kyo and prolly Terry)... they never try to explore the other chars..
c'mon, what are the other 30+ chars for?

I love her.

But it's a kind of character were you can't expect to win a fight by perfect. You need to stay TOO close to the other character to play her efectively.

I love her in AOF3 and SVC (I hate this game, but it's cool to play with her)

Kasumi has always been one of my favorite fighters ever since I started playing the KOF series. Most noticeably my favorite game Kasumi came out in was KOF '96, but it's nice to know she made another appearance in '99 and 2000. She's one of my highest used fighters and I know her to play her well. :smirk:

Chick fight.

I've seem some absolutely nutty Blue Mary x Kasumi slugfests... Both of them grappling and cancelling and flinging each other around...

Dizzy. :loco:

I think they need to redo Kasumi's wardrobe, and I think I'd appreciate her a lot more.

I got Chaos a week ago and she's good in this game too, but I don't like that they changed her grapple to a motion like Iori's grapple... I usually end up doing her fireball instead of the grapple (I guess my motion is too loose). Are there any shortcuts for this move?

My B&B still works, what 5 times I've gotten the grapple to come out :D. Not good with cancelling yet but when I have more time to sit down with Chaos I think I'll get better.

COME BACK WHEN YOU GROW UP!

This girl SPEAKS engrish!

Yeah, she's great.

I luv her since her debut in AOFIII, but luv her even more since she got her new hairstyle in KOF99.

She's lovable to play too, with all her reversal-based style, and gotta especially love her super-counter. Badass.

I can't stand they took her of the cast in KOF2000 just for entering the stupid sumo girl Hinako, who looks like coming from Ranma 1/2... :oh_no:

Maybe you're thinking of KOF '01?

My half-bad, cause Hinako *was* introduced in 2000, just taking XiangFei place, and then in 2001 XiangFei made her comeback kicking Kasumi out instead of the stupid sumo brat-girl.
