Does anyone know if there's a Metal Slug 4 insert and if so, where to download it from? There's a nice blank shockbox in between Metal Slug 3 and 5 on my shelf that is looking for an insert :help:

WOW.... 22.3MB?!?!

Oh well, at least I don't have to make one myself now :multi_co:

Yeah, that is pretty massive - but it's a pretty detailed insert, and more importantly it's saved as a bitmap. When you convert it to pdf (which you'll have to do before heading to Kinko's, of course), it'll be much smaller.

I 'acquired' a Canon S9000 from a guy who lived in a van down by the river :loco:

Really though, any 13x19 printer does a darn good job with printing inserts. You can find the S9000 for less than $200 these days too. The big downside about printing out your own inserts is the media cost, between paper and cartidges it all adds up fairly quickly. The nice advantage is that you have total control over the print process, so if you have a calibrated printer you'll know exactly what you're getting.

Nothing against Kinko's, but it's nice to be able to print out a proof of work in progress designs.

Do you get the quality that they can give at Kinko's though? Or anything close? Could you maybe post a pic or two?

Check the thread right below this one, Do it Yourself Printing. I posted some images (albeit poor lighting) of the inserts I've printed. If you need better pics let me know, setting up a light table wouldn't take to long.

I went to Kinko's once to print out inserts, and I don't want to go back. It was the same type of stuff that happened when I was a design student. Your always supposed to embed an ICC profile in print work, and the first thing Kinko's does is throw it away because you're not a "real" designer. If a customer embeds an ICC profile, the least they can do is properly match it to their printers...

In the end the prints from Kinko's end up pretty darn good, but when I take it back and look at it on my screen they're just so different in some color patterns (mainly greens and reds) because they aren't accurately transitioning the ICC color space.

Enough of a rant on Kinko's :blow_top: Personally I've liked that ability to print out my own inserts and the quality is near, or better than Kinko's in most circumstances.
