Hello,

I have bought a MVS KOF 2001 on Ebay, and I definitely suspect that it is a bootleg.

I've told the seller that I found it was a bootleg, and guess what he said ?
"I've checked some of the other games I actually sell, and they are bootlegs too"
(he sold them as originals, for the price of originals, but didn't mentioned it was bootlegs to the future buyers).

You can check out a photo of this MVS card here :

As I take part of the Neo geo and Ebay communities, I have to warn you that which guys in Ebay, sell bootlegs.

At the begining, he wanted to make me a discount on his other MVS games, but he changed his mind, and told me that if I give him a neutral report for this auction, he would say I have tried to blackmail him.
--> So you can't rely on him, for anything.

Do you know what he said to me when I suggested him to check his MVS cards ?
"I cannot check every single one of the other ones I will soon put on sale because they are too many! It takes me about 20 minutes to open up and close each game"
--> does he think I am dumb , uh ?

He proposed me to refund the price of the game, but the shipping fees are very important , so I prefered to keep the game :-(

In such circumstances, what are the habits in the neo geo community ?
Do you want the name of the seller ?

Thanks,

manuhard

For God's sake, as I said in the other thread there's no doubt that's a friggin' bootleg, so please name the name of the seller so we can all be sure to avoid him in the future!

I've already mentioned him twice selling the same SVC boots. The first post had to do with my inquiry about the cart if it was BOOT or not. It indeed was. He keeps pumping these same titles and making a killing off of the bootlegs. So yeah, post his name in the Fraud/ bootleggers, beware thread or something

Why the f*ck did you leave him positive feedback?!? That kind of ruins the point....

You simply ask for a refund, and if he does not comply you leave him negative. Hell, even a neutral would have made a lot of sense. YOUR positive feedback influences people to buy his items. I understand that you mentioned it was a bootleg in his positive feedback, but when I see a seller with 100% positive feedback I usually feel no need to actually read his feedback in the first place. Bad move my friend, bad move.

Yep,

I had a doubt, because of his behaviour, which is after all professional.

I just expect that buyers will take a look at my commentary.

But, you are right too, when you say he deserved a neutral feedback.

Looks like he has another KOF 01 for sale with the same picture - I hate it when sellers do that.

You've got Gerrardo all wrong. He really doesn't know how to tell the difference between boots and OGs. I started a topic called "KOF01 authenticity check" in tech support. My original KOF01 came from this very guy. If you ask him to check the cart for you he will. Don't write him off just yet. If he finds that the game you want is a boot he will reduce the price for you or will not - feedback you if you back out because of it.
He ain't no Casey that's for sure.

p.s. There is at least one poster in here who messaged me asking for an SVC boot. I refuse to mention names as I'm not that kind of guy, but some of you truly are swines.

Not really, that still gives him 100% positive feedback. You can have as many neutrals as you want, and when you have an auction, it will still say 100% Positive under the username.

For me, I am not a specialist, to determine whether a MVS card is a bootleg or not, but I have picked up some useful informations in Neo-Geo.com, and now I am able to.
As he sells so many MVS cards, why can't he do the same ?

Moreover, if he really takes 20 minutes to open and close a MVS card, I understand that he maybe have some difficulties to tell the difference between boots and originals.

And finally, he tolds me in one of his emails that he has checked his actual MVS games, and SVC chaos and KOF 2001 were bootlegs, as he told me.
But he sells them !

So, it is difficult to think something positive about him :-(

Gerrardo is not as bad as other known boot sellers. Sure you can get a dodgy game but if you converse with him a lot before hand you can secure yourself an OG most of the time. I found that by being friendly I got a good deal. He even packaged my game well, which he apparently doesn't do very often.
I guess you can't please all of the people all of the time.

You gotta remember also that a fair number of people don't care if it's a boot or not - they just want to play the game.
To them it wouldn't matter.

At the prices that his BOOTS go for, he is a scammer 100% but then again the people paying 100+ for his SVC boots are dumb twats cause they can get new kits for a few dollars more.

Thought id go through all those SVC boots i could and list what they sold for:
US $128.50 saved 30.50 from buying an original brand-new kit from NeoStore
US $142.48 saved 16.62
US $103.50 saved 55.50
US $124.50 saved 34.50

shipping costs not figured.
On each auction going by picure displayed (which is a bootleg).

I would pay an extra 55.50 (largest savings) for a REAL authentic and NEW SVC Chaos MVS kit.

thats just me though.

Paying $1.00 for a measly boot is still a crime.
The good thing is that the person who buys the boot will probably
never own the real deal, so that's satisfying.
