Andy Bogard - dead?

I haven't been following the KOF storylines for oh, a few years now. But I had someone recently email me and say that they are certain that Andy Bogard dies during/before KOF 2003 and that was why he was substituted out of the team. I've checked this site and all over the internet but can't find verification of this.

So does anyone know for sure... is Andy Bogard dead?

Thx!

He makes a little cameo in MOTW, so I'm sure he's not dead.

Not to mention Andy is the KOF 2003 Fatal Fury Team Ending congratulating them on victory, and also appears in Mai's dream in her KOF 2003 ending.

When did he "congratulate" them? He was just... in the audience. So was Rock, though... and Rock looked like he did from Mark of the Wolves. They grow up so fast nowadays...

He'd better not be. Andy B is my favourite chara. I'm letting it ride that he wasn't in KOF 2003 in hope that he'll be back next year. Stupid Tizoc.

Thx everyone. Just heard back from my email correspondent and after doing my research and reading the forums, I'm pretty confident that my opinion is correct and Andy is alive & well, especially after I looked at some screenshots of the FF Team's ending on KOF '03.

Funny enough, the answer to this question is as easy as looking on Playmore's site. They actually had the Team Stories written up concerning the 2003 tournament. (This time, in English too(Did they take them down?)) Andy did not show up in 2003 because he decided to stay back home and take care of his student Hokutomaru, who was quite sick, at the time.

Just like Kensou and Bao aren't there because they went into hiding. They are also in training. Apparently, Kensou's little small awakening to the Dragon spirit, in 2001, has some significance to the catalyst that's behind the events of the new story arc. That topic will most likely come up again. Chin believes Bao, and more specifically Kensou, are being hunted for Kensou's secret. How Bao is related to Kensou's awakening, that's yet to be revealed. Supposedly, Kensou had it in him, from the get go. (Which might be the KOF storywriters trying to work in something about Kensou, vaguely related to a transformation Kensou had in Psycho Soldiers)

I'm curious as to what level of power, and what kind, they decide to use for the Dragon Spirit. Psycho Soldiers worked on a higher power level, so giving him that much power would make him cheezy enough to be a boss(maybe worse. The Dragon spirit was practically invincible, I believe).

They're being hunted by Ron, I know Bao is.

Yes, I had read that and when I pointed that out to my correspondent, he/she did not respond to it and instead said that Andy died in the Fatal Fury Team ending (which from all the screencaps I've seen is decidedly untrue).
