If you can't afford the Radeon 9800xt, go with the 9800 Pro. Make sure and get the version with the 256-bit architecture. I just bought a Sapphire Radeon 9800 Pro 256-bit version with 128MB DDR VRAM and I love it. It's extremely fast and was only about $200. Or you can wait until the new generation cards come out, the 9800's will come down in price.

if i were you, i'd hold onto the ti4600 till the gf6's and x800's become more established, and then go for a 9800 or 5900 or something.
