Any body on here that's a fan of this classic tv show. A while ago it just came out on DVD i just pick it up a while back of the season one set. I wouldn't expect any thing specail on it like extras such as behind the sceens and stuff etc. Pretty much a stright transfer from video tape to dvd if it ever was on vhs in the frist place. You get 4 disc as a start. A good buy if you ever wanted to watch this classic tv show in your own home with out haveing to check and hope it's on spiketv or nicktvland as reruns. Quote: I love it when a plan comes together! ;)

I remember watching it as a kid. The one thing I remembered when I was watching it was that nobody ever died!

Ture nobody did die on the A-Team but i guess at the time when nbc was showing it at a prime time hour they didn't want to scare kids by haveing chacaters die if at all or rather a violent way with gore. Dunno and yes i use to watch it as a kid too during the early 80's guess that's why i have a soft spot for this show and why i pick it up so fast when i saw it hit dvd. Other then that count how many times Mr.T says FOO ! during the show entire run. :glee:

"What you lookin' at Foo!

I ain't gettin' on no plane, and I ain't drinkin' that milk!"

"You just another crazy foo, talkin' about things that ain't there!"

"Little squirt, meet Big squirt!" -- Mr. T going after Murdock (and Murdock's little squirt-bottle "Little squirt" that he made up into a little fireman doll) ..............................with the Firehose from the full-sized firetruck.

I'd have more one-liners for Murdock, but he's tough to remember. Almost every line Murdock says is a one-liner, but there's just too many to remember. More often than some, he either pokes fun or recites a line from a popular play, classic movie, or musical.

I love colonel whats-his-nuts, the really crazy skinny dude, and of course, mr. t bitches! :mr_t:

It was kinda boring to watch all that gunfire and have nobody getting waxed though - especially after watching early Arnold flicks like Commando.

As for noone getting killed, I know what you mean. But I could sort of understand, at the time, why they did that. Unlike G.I. Joe (another famous show for having tons of gunfire with so little casualties), the A-Team were purposely trying not to kill anybody, just to scare them enough. The premise being, the A-Team were so darn good and accurate, that those men can end fire-fights without killing. Disable, yes. Kill, no. But when it came to beating people down, they had no issues about throwing down in hand-to-hand.

It may sound cheesy to some, but that's the A-team in a nutshell; and I guess it harbored a subtle message. Like an after-school special without being so darn obvious.

I kind of liked it, because it actually made the fisticuffs (and of course, the unorthodoxed vehicle/war vehicle use) the most thrilling parts of the action.

yes and every episode had a music sequence where the team were required to build some vehicle or machinery from scratch using only their brains and hard labour. This music sequence always featured a welding scene with sparks flying.

Howling Mad Murdock and B.A. Baracus were my favourites.
That show rocked and still does to the day.

BTW, Dwight "Murdock" Schultz does a lot of character and voice acting nowadays, including loads of games. He's in Chronicles of Riddick (the game,) Final Fantasy X and X-2, Fallout Tactics and more.

"Bad Actor" Barracus (sp) was the best part of that whole show. They had to sleep/drug him in like every episode so they could fly to Jral, or Guam, or whereever their mission was. Not to mention a jeep flipped over in lots of the episodes, and it always looked like the same Jeep. Good stuff.

Another quick question does any body think they will be a A-Team moive one day? Ive herd rumors that the creator of the show would like do one but i'm not sure if it would translate well to the big screen let alone finding actors that would fit the part ? Becuse it seems like every time a moive comes out base on a tv show it turns out to be a turd.

Well, technically the actors from the show are still around. And technically, they would be fit enough to do it again. However, I did hear that there may have been some bad blood between the actors, of that show. Especially between the guy who played Hannibal and Mr. T.

I don't think that quite washed over, yet. Mr. T. is still around, and if the commercials are any indication, he could step right in for B.A. I still don't think anybody can replace him. I've yet to see a single person who'd do B.A. quite the same way. B.A. in certain ways, is plain ol' T, and there just aren't any imitators.

I thought George Prepard (Hanibal) died a while back. Can't do an A-Team reunion without him. It wouldn't be the same.

Peppard died in 1994, so the bad blood between him and Mr. T are probably long gone. Honestly, the bad blood was likely due to when T. was on drugs. Now that he's clean, he doesn't seem to have ill will towards anyone or anything.

Yeah i know about George Prepaid pass away in 94 and the remaining 3 actors from the A-Team are still alive a reuion show would be nice but then agian geting reuion shows done some times can be a pain in the ass to get done depends if there was any bad blood or if the actors are not too busy with other things. If a A-Team moive was done Mr.T could do it since he stated he's good health now but i wouldn't be surpise if some hollywood studio would start it different and get different actors to do it dunno.

lol I pretty much gaurantee that an A-Team movie is in the works. The milking of 80s nostalgia is hot right now + Hollywood is burned out on ideas, so recycling what worked then = $$$.

But althought the A-Team was basically a simple action show, the one they they'll most like will miss the mark on is the chemistry and charm of the show. BA was tough as nails but also had a certain teddy bear quality; Murdock was hilariously insane (shellshock?); Face the ladies man/pretty boy, and Hannibal the charasmatic leader. Not just archetypes, but they had a certain on screen chemistry together that just flowed. Not to mention having one of the most badass themes, EVER.

BTW- how did the show end? I remember that the team was eventuall caught (I think).

Thanks for bringing this thread up. I didnt even know the DVDs were available, I have to get those babies asap :D
