Okay I dont have any clue what the western game mags have been saying about this game or even if its an official release, but last week I stumbled upon a reworked remixed version of the origional Outrun for the PS2 and its amazing.

Also isnt Outrun 2 now coming out on X Box? The arcade version looks amazing and really draws the crowds down here.

Yes, it's a remake of it like a kind of Sega Ages. Looks cool, but I doubt it will ever come stateside.

Yeah, like a lot of the Sega Ages, it doesn't seem to be anything that comes to the U.S. The Xbox Outrun 2 is currently being worked on. Supposed to have more modes and stuff, to make it more console-friendly. I'm game, as long as they don't mess up what it has, as I never had a chance to play Outrun 2 before. The Xbox Outrun 1 came as a part of the whole Shenmue 2 package, but it's more of the true arcade original than a revamped and reworked title like the PS2 import scene got. Man, if the Sega Ages brought that stateside, I'd pick it up in a heartbeat.

By the way, what arcade is the Outrun 2 machine (the one you're talking about) at? I have yet to see one in the Maryland/DC area. I'm beginning to feel like we're getting the Planet Harrier treatment, around here. Total denial of game.

oh the outrun 2 machine is in Sungei Wang shopping centre , Kuala Lumpur ,Malaysia. If any of you guys love arcade gaming, the tourist centre of Kuala Lumpur (bukit bintang) has according to my count 18 arcade centres all within a half mile radius.
When you see places like this where arcade gaming is such a phenomenon it makes U think how and why things failed in the West.
And i dont buy that home consoles killed it crap. In Kuala LUmpur you can buy dead ringer copies of PS2 games for 2 dollars, with great inserts and the PS2 machine is so cheap too, so people dont just go to arcades cos they cant afford home games.
