Stupid waste of time eBay...I hate NPBs

Okay...so after having to put my laptop up for a third time it hit me...what the hell do people bid on shit only to not pay at all?!?!? what the hell ...why do people like to waste time and money like this???

I've only sold a couple of items on e-bay, and have never encountered the infamous non-paying bidder.

I'm just wondering what kind of penalty the non-payer incurs when he/she fails to pay. Apparently, it's not enough. They should automatically charge 20% of the item's purchase price to the bidder's card (which should be required), and give 15-18% of that back to the seller. Only then would you see this shit take a nose dive.

the NPBs get a slap on the freaking wrist. You get your auction money back, and they get a neg feedback...WOW It used to be that after 3 neg feedbacks you lose your account, but I believe they scrapped that...

That's total bullshit. People should be held monetarily accountable for shit like that, especially considering how much damage they do to the sellers.

Yup..

I say I get one for every 10 items me or my wife sells..

If I list 5 items one will end with a non paying/no contact bidder every freaken time..

I have a very low rate of non paying bidders. Very low... I wonder why. Maybe it's luck or maybe it's just that I only sell video games?

I remember when my dad used to sell old star wars toys on ebay. People would buy it get it say there's something wrong with it and when my dad got it back something was missing with it. For ex. Lord of the ring Ring Wraith action figure (70's toy) said it was broke so my dad had to refund the money and when we got it back it didn't have it's sword We got kicked off of ebay because of people like this and now can't sell on it.

Yep, and now all the scumbags that sell $hyte products can get away with it by claiming that everything they sell is "as is". It's getting to the point where you just have to assume the worst with people .

Yeah it is. I'm scared to buy things off ebay anymore. I used to buy games and dvds but after buying a Darkstalkers dvd boot I haven't really bought anything. Neo games really worry me but to be honest I can't afford alot of those ridicolous prices anyway that's why I only buy here .

Sometimes people can't really help not being able to pay. Like, I've personally been in a situation where I was expecting a giant paycheck but then a grant for college didn't come in on time so I had to cover the bill on the fly. Of course, I did pay the seller to compensate for the relisting price as well as left positive feedback, because thats just the right thing to do.


Although here lately I am getting worred about some stuff I bid on. For instance, I won a game on Ebay and was about to pay this morning, but because my laptop is a piece of shit Dell, it died on me while I was doing the PayPal thing. I tried to pay again but this time the seller had raised the price of shipping by 20$!!!!! Of course, while investigating the auction to see what the original price was, some red flags started shooting up such as:
"GAME IS SOLD AS IS"
"NO REFUNDS PERIOD!"

And what not. I hadn't noticed the all caps descriptions before either, though the seller's attitude and use of all caps in the emails also has me incredibly worried, and I really don't want to deal with him because its an Ebay.UK guy and thus far I've gotten ripped on there 3/3 times.

I've had more cases where the seller has refused to sell at the winning price because they wanted more.

That does totally suck man. I have had my fair share of experience with non-paying bidders, and what's more pathetic is they are some small closing bids of like, $7.50 or around $10.00, and I think to myself, how much of a l4m3r can you be when you can't scrounge enough allowance from mommy or daddy, or sell some ass to get that kind of cash? Larger bids like for your Powerbook is especially unforgiveable. I don't want to hear excuses of 'I didn't think I would win' or 'I changed my mind but didn't retract my bid because I was away' or some other shit. Really the worst shit is the seller not even having the common decency to reply to emails, just outright not following up upon the conclusion of the auction. eBay has got to do some serious policing that strengthen their feedback program, because at this point it's just his word against my word scenario, and that doesn't ever help because there are a lot of people who can't be bothered to leave negative feedback because they fear retaliatory negative feedbacks.

Man...and eBay does nothing to repeate offenders...because they still make money from it...

I once had 3 items on ebay and they where bought by 3 different people (one was sniped even) - one of the guys had 350+ positive feedback.

I tried to get intouch with each of these bidders for over a month and only got 1 reply for the one guy who said he would send payment. He never did and I had to drop 3 negative feedbacks. Ridiculous because I wasted time and money and someone else could have taken these off my hands, also because I had to repost the auctions and got half of what they had sold for the last time around. Infact, I'm usually caught between loosing time and money on having to repost the auctions (upto 3 times), or having my products sell for catastrophically low amounts (sometimes getting 3 or 4 times less for an item than its worth). Ebay has ruined me quite a few times - I just can't trust it anymore.

Anyway I only hand out negative feedback if the non paying bidder does not get in topuch with me soion after the auction's end to let me know he will not be complying. I hate non paying bidders who can't be arsed to get in touch.
Its especially bad when you resort to ebay coz you need quick cash and you get non payers bidding.

Yeah mainly overseas bidders after I tell them the higher rates to ship overseas, but it seems the French are the worse

I've only had one NBP so far... on a low price item...

And I forgot about it...
