Can I get some respect for this game? I beat the Saturn version back in the day, not knowing a lick of Japanese, and was wowed at what a game it was. If every FMV game was as masterful as this, the genre might not have died. A shame it never came out in English. Music and Animation in it still rocks to this day. :buttrock:

Kojimas best game by far.

BTW saturn version owns all, because the virtua gun works with it in the shooting sections and it has mouse support. :buttrock:

One of my personal top five games of all time. I know every inch of this game, practically every line of text. Beaten it countless times, read every bit of information in the encyclopedia. In fact, I own three copies of the Saturn version, just in case. The best Kojima game by a huge margin. Only Snatcher comes near.

Kojima is still on my personal "Shit List" unless Metal Gear Solid III: Snake Eater proves to be as bad ass as that 14:58 minute trailer shows off. I have a home made MERC X99 "Burn Knuckle" to give his sorry ass for not releasing this game {Policenaughts} in the U.S. after that massive petition back in '97 for PSOne, along with the SNATCHER petition. The game no doubt deserves much love, but Kojima is a maggot pusswad. The bastid refuses to re-release MSX perfect {or even overhauled 3-D versions} of the first two Metal Gear games, and then pisses in his die-hard fan's faces with the whole Snatcher/Policenaughts thing... and for that the man should be hung by his nutsack until it rips, the sonova' bitch! :mad:

...but yeah, POLICENAUGHTS OWNZ!

Yep, loved the game. Beat it amny times over, and still love it! I'll take the PS version over the SAT: Better FMV, you can use the mouse, and the Guncon is tops!

Crap...I didn;t know you can use the guncon with it (I know...I'm slow)...I should try beating it again so I can use it...

It's true that the FMV is smoother in the PS iteration, but for me personally, I'll take the new scenes, new cinemas, new trailer intro, new CDs at Kenzou Houjou's, and most importantly, the amazing packaging over the PS version any day. I've owned and played through both, but I definitely prefer the Saturn version. I don't have a copy of the PS version anymore, and haven't for many years, but if memory serves me correctly, it also doesn't have the encyclopedia, I think? Obviously, that's only of use if you read Japanese, but then I'm not sure why one would want to play this game without a solid reading knowledge of the language anyway.

Yeah, the SAT version does have a wicked package. The PS also has the "Policenauts Private collection", with tons and tons of info, including cast interviews, the encyclopedia, music, making of, and lots more!!

Far as haterd go's i keep that for konami usa afther all they had policenauts for the saturn half way through for translation for domestic release then cancel it for no reason what so ever. Wich is why i imported it in the end for the saturn. I'm just glad The Snatcher and Policenauts shrine has for a walk through for it.I still need to find the time to play it still. :eye: :eye:

Yea, Kojima is the man. I do wish he would have brought that game stateside as I have not had a chance play it. I will probably import for the Satunr sometime, but for now I don't really feel the need. Unless I can be convinced otherwise. ;) :D

I have both Saturn and PSX version, but never bothered to play them past the Prologue: I don't speak Japanese :crying:
I'm a big fan of Kojima, I've finished MegaCD Snatcher like 5 times, but it pissed me to no end there was no English version of Policenauts :very_ang:

i had it a long time ago but i couldnt get into it because of language barrier. how would a compilation be for current consoles with fully translated and uncensored snatcher + policenauts be? with all nice package and shit?

A release of Policenauts in english would be nice but since konami can be jerks some times i doubt it will happen that's like asking them to put the msx metalgears games in a collection there repsonse would probley be like.What did you say you want the metalgear msx games in a collection eh ? No thanks it looks too out of date nobody will buy it don't you know it's all about the teh 3d nobody cares about our old games any more. For the most part that's the feeling i get from them. If compeny like midway and namco can put there old games on a collection i don't see why konami can't!? :blow_top:

Wow... So much had happened since that thread!

You can get a translated patch of your PSX version the Policenauts from here: http://policenauts.net/english/

You can even convert the game to play it on a soft-modded PSP, great stuff so check it out!
