What old school MegaDrive/Genesis games would you like to see redone on a "next gen" console, and what graphical styles should they be given? It can either be a retelling of the original plotline, or a sequel to the orginal story (assuming the game had a coherent plot to begin with.)

I would like to see Chakan redone SotN style. Completely 2D of course, with beatiful sprites worthy of the newer consoles. That would be a cream dream.

I think a modern version of E-SWAT would be pretty awesome. I'd love to see what they could do with that suit in high res 3D :drool_2: :drool_2:

I'd like to see Flicky redone in a John-Woo style film platformer featuring Paulie Shore.

What an intellectual quandray of a demented post-moddern psychadellic trip that'd be.

Ne'ce pas, Bu-uddy?

I'd love to see ThunderForce and MUSHA reborn as high quality 2.5D remakes ala R-Type Final. Compile and TechnoSoft are both history though, so the odds are slim. :crying:

Comix Zone, they could do a lot with a game premise like this nowadays. Cell Shading an obvious choice!
Streets Of Rage 4, a total no brainer, it's simply the best side scroller waiting to happen. Realistic graphics please, with manhunt style grainy filter to give it that um gritty look.
Rocket Knight Adventures, this series has deserved a worthy follow up for years(the original sequel was shyte) i'm thinking of maximo - style redoing of this.
Eternal Champions, either 2d or 3d, this great fighter had a bunch of awesome , comic book characters that are simply begging to be bought back into the fray. Definetely virtua fighter type graphics here.
Shinobi , a true style shinobi, nothing like the shitty ps2 type. jeez, just play Ninja Gaiden and you have to wonder what ShinobiPS2 developers were thinking.

Not only it. At least 13 classic Sega games were released under the 3D Ages Collection. I had played After Burner 2 and just go Hokuto No Ken (Black Belt). Other games that I remember are Alex Kidd, Phantasy Star, OutRun, Space Harrier and others.

That's not particularly correct, the Altered Beast is a brand new title developed by an in house Sega Studio, ala Shinobi, whereas the others are simple remakes with graphical touches, developed by a sega 3rd pary, ages.

Excuse me, I didn't clicked the link. I thought Youkai was talking about the 3D Ages re-release.

I would like to see a Gunstar Heroes II done in high res 2-D and ten times more insane than the original. If TREASURE is willing to port "Guardian Heroes" as a somewhat re-make, they need to get off their stink holes and produce the sequel we've all wanted... and you ravenous SEGA heads know who you are that want that!

...other than that, I'd say:

PulseMan
Vector Man 3-D
Shadow Dancer

...AND FINALLY a high resolution 2-D BARE KNUCKLE 4: Wild In The Streets

Id be keen to see Dynamite Duke bought to the 3d arena, he seemed quite a badass, > Superspy.

eh Snatcher and Policenauts don't need updating, they just need to come out together on one disc, fully translated and uncut with Japanese voices & English subtitles. Probably will never happen, but Konami is crazy to not take already existing games, put a relatively small amount of work into them, and market it as "BY THE CREATOR OF METAL GEAR SOLID!!!". I think it would sell alright based on that phrase alone.

I think the same, they don't need to redo anything, just give it to us on a console avaliable in the market :D

I really don't know why Konami is missing this chance... Maybe that's beacuse they can only touch the game under Kojima's supervision? Since he's busy with the MGS3, I don't see he spending his time with this anytime soon :crying:

A SD Snatcher port to GBA would be FUCKING sweet :)

yeah i remember reading a thread somewhere petitioning Konami to translate Policenauts and i think the main reason why peeps said it wasn't going to happen was that Kojima was always too busy doing other shit.

SD Snatcher was an MSX game, right?

I would definently have to go with a new Sonic 3 and a Shinobi just like the 2D ages. Yeah, it doesn't sound all that great but they could do a good job making it feel old school.

Yes. And it's more fun than the original, in some aspects. It plays like a old school top view RPG, like Phantasy Star or Y's :)

I heard this new Altered Beast is gonna be set in post apocalyptic Los Angeles instead of the Greek setting.
