Supergoose has my Hyper 64 board as he will be doing some work to it. Its a Rev.2 fighting board. He tells me that upon powering it up all he gets is a red screen. SS64 is loaded up. I'm not too sure of what he is using to test it with.
Can anyone shed any light as to why this is happening and how to fix it? I've never used it myself so I can't offer any advice. I thought that it may have something to do with the JAMMA/MVS switch and I've also heard that game carts should be pulled up slightly after being loaded into the board.

Take the cart out and make sure that both the cart and mother board contacts are clean. Make sure that the cart is installed to the mother board in the correct orientation (like in the manual picture).

i already cleaned the contacts. still doesn't work.

the cart was already installed and wouldn't even fit in there if i'd turn it.

what i get without the cart is a blue screen with white vertical stripes or a black screen with said stripes. the black one turns into an 100% blue screen after a few seconds.

my gun works with any mvs board and was just tested with a mv-1fz. there's nothing wrong with it.

Well, It sounds that you have a dead cartridge.

Apparently its apower supply issue. A Jameco is not powerful enough to run a Hyper 64 board. I've heard this information twice now, so I'm guessing it has to be something to do with this. I'm hoping it is anyway.

OK so we're thinking that the game cart may be dead. Would someone mind powering on a board with no cart in it and tell me what happens? I don't know if it would be different with a Rev.1 board, but mine is Rev.2.

I have a Rev. 1 board, and I could safely tell you that you will have the same results with a Rev. 2 board. If you power the board without a cartridge, nothing will come up. And if you want to get into the test mode, you must have a cart plugged into the board.

Sorry about your dead cart.
