you know, design-wise. Aesthetically speaking.

Sega Saturn...though, the Neptune setup looked great too.

I think this generation has some of the best looking consoles. PS2 has that streamlined look, the Gamecube has a simplicity that masks its power. I think the Xbox just looks pretty cool, nothing really to explain.

i looked, but i certainly could've missed it.

i might have to go with the PCE Duo. I just got one and it's really cool - small, sleek, nice curves. The ugly aquamarine on/off switch may be the only thing keeping it from true greatness.

I didn't even think of the SP. That's a good one.

I personally like the Intellivision, especially with all it's add-ons! :D

Not counting limited edition versions:

1) Sega Genesis (all models, but especially model 2 with Sega CD model 2)
- the sleekest looking system ever, it threw out the idea that consoles had to be boxy.

2) Atari Jaguar
- it looked half like some sort of UFO and some sort of Manta Ray, it had the low body and the curves and ridges in the right places.

3) Nintendo 64
- after the hideous, but monstrously amazing and influential SNES, Nintendo spewed out a beautiful failure. The sloping system made it look simple and defied the still untapped power that laid inside.

4) Turbo Duo
- A design that Panasonic, Philips and a whole slew of other CD-based console developers attempted to mimic, this hybrid again had a sophisticated sleekness to it. Check out the power lifeline stretching across the top and leading to the power.

5) Tie: Neo-Geo and Atari VCS with wood panelling
When one of my elementary school friends' parents bought him his Neo Geo, his first and only system up until then, I didn't know what it was. SNK was only a name to me, and it never clicked in until later in the 90s that they were responsible for this flat, low-riding muscle console.
As for the VCS, yeah, it looks like an old station wagon but it was my first system but the metal switches, plastic casing and faux-wood finish really do it for me, you got it a problem with that? :mr_t:

I know they're bizarre picks, but it's obvious I like flat, black consoles, isn't it?

Honourable mention: Atari Lynx, Sega Neptune, Sony PSOne and the top-loading NES.

1) Dreamcast
2) Black Gamecube

Those consoles just have a special undescribable look for me hahah, I see them and I say oh shit, Im in for some gay old times.

That's it. The rest of the consoles look ok.

Though I find the playstation to look very boring.
Take a look at the Dreamcast, it actually has a "fun" look. I see the PS2 design, and I see a VCR.

Either way, that's just my opinion suckas.

Peace :buttrock:

off the top of my head:

Neo home cart system (all biases asside)
Turbo duo
dreamcast
PS2 dev system (basically a PS2 on roids)

i can't belive that so many people dog the SNES, I think that system looks great. To each his own I suppose.

NEC PC-FX for sure. It's a great console, and a great design. Not exactly primed for a slim shelf space, but an interesting and original idea.

I love the look of the Original White PC Engine in the briefe-case style cd attachment. Rather, the PC Engine looks more link the attachment.

Next would be the Duo. Very sexy indeed.

Last but not leaset would be the Super Famicom. Love the curves, and the colors really looked "Futuristic" back in 1991.

Super Famicom for me, loved the design to death since I first laid eyes on it as a kid.

I have to add the Sega CDX. Its really a beautiful piece of hardware.

Ugliest? American Sega Saturn. Its literally a black box. Even the Xbox is slightly more sleek with its design.
