Just took my son in for his first visit and I have to admit I wish I could visit his dentist more often. GC, PS2 and Xbox in the lobby AND an N64 in the actual room for cleanings! Needless to say, my son now LOVES the dentist...

So when was the last time you've been?

I go twice a year for cleanings (as is recommended) and generally take great care of my teeth so no major work is needed.

A top-notch cleaning twice a year, plus an orthodontist appointment every three weeks. Braces = teh suck

6-7 Years ago.

After I had my braces removed, I never went back.

With the exception of one really nasty cavity, my teeth are fine.

It's my second molar from the back and it's starting to get really bad... but I don't have Dental Insurance and really can't afford to have it fixed/ripped out by a professional.

I may have to opt for the Whiskey + Plyers route and yank it out myself.

January (different dates), to get my wisom teeth out.

I still have them in a container somewhere.

It's fun, being fully conscious AND feeling those bastards come out.

I went a couple of months ago after not going for about 6 years. I ended up having a few cavities. :oh_no: I'll be sure to start going twice a year now.

Twice a year for me as well. My next dentist appointment is on Thursday, so how timely this thread is. ;)

Went a month ago, I go every 6 months and take care of my teeth. I actually find it hysterical that some people here don't. Honestly, it's what $30 for a cleaning without insurance (or less) and if you are on top of things you shouldn't need any major work. Plus just having nice white, clean, healthy teeth and gums seems so much more attractive than the alternative.

It was $50 just for a cleaning where I went plus I had to pay for x-rays. :spock:

My last cleaning was around 80 bucks, and a bunch of little minor cavities that the dentist wanted to "seal before they got worse" added up to around a thousand bucks. I wonder about these dentists sometimes .... :spock:

I guess I am out of touch with the price today. I get the bill (which my insurance company pays) and it is $30 for the cleaning... I guess they get a special rate, would make sense they would negotiate lower. Anyway, yeah...

I went for the first time in years last month and my checkup was pretty damn good. Doc gave me a new filling for one of my teeth and I was shocked that he had a WHITE filling which essential was invisible when it completely hardened.

For some reason the dentist trips seem alot less torture filled than when i was younger.

It's been at least a year. I only have one filling so far (I'm 20) and my teeth look and feel great, except for one that hurts like hell when I eat something really sweet. I hope it isn't a fucking cavity, but it probably is.

Don't put it off.

I repeat, do not put it off.

I went yesterday to get a post in the root canal I had last month, my crown will be ready in two weeks. I had to have this root canal because I put off going. If you wait, it will only get more painful and more expensive. I went from having a broken filling, which then broke down more to the pulp, which became infected and went down into the root. If I had waited any longer it would have caused an abscess, as it was I had a temperature running a degree higher from my infection.

Fixing the filling would have run a couple hundred, but since I needed a root canal, a post and a crown, it ended up costing over $1000. It's the only one I've needed though, and I'll never need (or want) another root canal. They suck big time.

Sometimes before I sleep, I can still feel the dentist scraping the root out of my molar with a metal pin.

i went religiously, every 6 months until i changed jobs; my newer job doesn't have dental anymore. But... i'm vying to get my old job back at my old employer so I should be able to get my dental back.

A side note: alot of people at where I work now (don't have dental coverage) have really shitty teeth too.

I went like 2 years ago when I had my wisdom teeth out. Haven't been since. I need to go back, but I don't have dental.
