Now that's some good news. Cave has given us more 2D love than SNK-P and Capcom combined the last three years. So many great games of theirs that you can only play via Jamma PCB or MAME. For those that don't know, you need to play the following:

Donpachi
Dodonpachi
Dondonpachi Dai-ou-jou
ESPRade
ESPGaluda
Dangon Feveron
Guwange

...and more I can't think of right now. Seriously, these guys make games as good as you remember them...kind of like that mythical malt shop that still makes cherry, vanilla, and chocolate cokes (with a small 'c').

I hope for ports of ESPGaluda and Insect Princess on the XBox...if not, I'll have to pony up for an import PS2. :emb:

This game looks great! I REALLY like the art. I was a little dissapointed with Esgaluda's art compared to Dodonpachi Daioujou. But this looks awsome. Thank you for the pick, im vibrating with excitement.

It's weird that the copyright on the poster is 2001.

Yeah, I noticed that as well. I suppose Mushihime might have begun development back then and then been put aside to focus on releasing other projects. Looking forward to this, and all future Cave goodness!

That's what I thought at first too, but it's a '4' not a '1'.

The horizontal line doesn't show up very well, that's all.

It's not the screenshots that I wait but the description of the system. The one used in espgaluda was so good, I really hope that this game will make something as original and great.

Heh, you're right. I really had to strain my aging eyes to see the 4. Mystery solved.

Yeah I saw this a couple days ago and was trying to figure out what it says on the arch... that cursive-like writing...anyone have any ideas?

My guess is that it's either the artist's name, or nothing at all- just gobbledegook put there to make the poster seem more like a Mucha print.

As for the Japanese running down the left side, it says:

また必ず逢えるよね。 Mata kanarazu aeru yo ne.

"We're going to meet again, aren't we."

Finally, looks like the Japanese name of the game is 虫姫さま Mushihime-Sama, or at least that's what I'm seeing it referred to as on some of the message boards over here.

yeah it seems pretty clear now but i totally missed it at first.

But i knew tsukaesugi's got the eagle eye. That's why he's so good at Tora's hidden pictures.

So far I've found:

-a fan
-an egg beater
-a horseshoe
-five different neurotic online personalities
-a spoon
-an airplane

*ahem* Back to the topic at hand... I'm really hyped about Mushihime-Sama. 'Mushihime-Sama' is the name of an actual Japanese fairytale, so I'm hoping that the game has more of a fantasy-theme than a sci-fi one. I loved Guwange and Sengoku Blade for their fantasy-atmospheres, I thought they were two of the most original shooters I'd ever played.

Okay, I give up; I still haven't found the airplane. Also, it seems you missed the soiled prophylactic. Sorry to go off topic.
