well what I mean is that most of us know the key points to look at to ensure a cart is genuine but sometimes some weird stuff appears on the boards and creates confusion and generates wrong alerts !
I'd like to review some of them which I came accross, feel free to comment and add yours !
- factory EEPROMS :
Fatal Fury1,
Fatal Fury 2,
KOF96 (M1 and EP1 through EP4, mine have colored lines)
...and many more...
- **socketeted** factory EEPROMS :
KOF2001 (P1 and (S)P2)
- some electronic component soldered between ROM pins
Top Hunter (P1)
- daughterboards (NG Pocket boards) with flash memory + gold connector and wire
MSlug3 (Px Roms)
KOF2000 (Px roms)
- factory mix of NGH numbers : this is reported to exist as SNK was in desesperate need of ROMs
(I dont own any of such carts)
this is just to name a few ... why not turn this into a knowledge database ?
