Ok,im having a big problem getting the voltage read from the power supply i have, and its getting frustrating to the point where i wanna whip it against a wall.Ok,i need to test the voltage of each pin from a 5 pin psu plug.I have a multimeter and whatnow, and i tried a bunch of options of trying to get it,and the damn thing wont eaven move.I put the black probe on the sheild, and the red probe on the pins, and nothing, tried vica vesa and nothing. The only time i get a reading is when both the red and black probes are touching the sheild, and it goes all the way to the end.Can someone please tell me hat to set my multimeter on,and where to out the probes? heres the multimeter i have Multimeter
So can someone please tell me where to put the dial on the meter, and where to pout the probes, and ill be set,any help is very much appreciated, thanks Tim

if you are getting a reading when the probes are touched together, your set to resistance not voltage. On that meter the DC voltage settings are at 10 oclock.

I've been following this but I can't offer any help..

I do know you need to have the meter set on DC 10 volts.

What kind of Power Supply are you trying to test..?
Does it have a red power light..?

I made this old thread when I was trying to figure out how to use a voltage meter..

I doubt it will be helpfull though....Plus I don't know why I never posted after I did all the testing.
