Heard from an old friend at EB that Sega's ESPN sports titles will come out at a sickeningly low $19.99. Guess they're serious about gutting EA like a fish.
Hell yeah!

Holy shit, that's not a bad idea SEGA. It looks like they can almost guarantee a lot more sales based on that tactic alone.

Good, because ESPN NBA Basketball 2004 2K4 (whatever) was a piece of shit.

Yeah, but the last couple NBA Live games have sucked ass too. Might as well save $30 bucks if you want a shitty basketball game.

Nice.
This is like SEGA telling the Madden Fanboys: "Hey Idiots this one costs $19.99
and it is 10 times FUCKING BETTER, open your fucking eyes"

Bite me.

one reason sega can do this is because they have a publishing deal with "take two" and i've heard the games use last years engine, only roster updates and slight graphical tweaks, but overall it's 2K4 with the new players.

Whoa, a few things to address here:

1. ESPN NBA Basketball is the best fucking sim on the market, period.
EA's Live series can't hold a fucking candle to it, been this way since NBA2K.

2. NFL2K5 actually got a massive graphic overhaul...they built it from scratch on the XBox first, then ported it as opposed to years past.

3. NFL2KX > Madden, period. Only frat kids who ate a lot of paste as children feel otherwise.

I would definitely buy NFL and NHL, those games are awesome. I just got NBA 2k3 for $5, but I didn't like it at all.

I just hope this isn't a sign that Sega's being gutted like a fish.

Anyway, Madden is teh suk. My roommate bought a copy for us to play that sits in the living room, and I played it a few times, but there's just soooo much random stupid shit that you have basically no control over. The passing system, in particular, seems totally arbitrary at times. Anyway, here's my old thread of Madden hatred:

Madden is teh suk

So, yeah, I'll be hooking it up with the Sega NFL game if I decide to grab a football game this year.

No. I was not in a frat nor did I eat alot of paste, and Madden destroys NFL2k series.

I do agree on the basketball game though. Although the last one I played was 2k3 on PS2 and it had some shit in it that made me wonder if retards made the game. Time starting as soon as you inbound instead of when the pass is caught? Completely fucking unacceptable.

That game SUCKED ASS. I'm not saying Live was much fucking better, but outside of the 24/7, it seemed like EVERYTHING was wrong with that piece of shit. NBA Inside Drive 2004 totally owned all the NBA games last year.

That's because EB's website lists games before their prices are confirmed. So far only the football's been confirmed is all. I suspect theothers will launch at $19.99 as well.

That, and Sega-Sammy might very well be the second largest developer in the world behind Nintendo.
