I wonder jameco sc200 power supply is enough to run CPS2 Board.
How about +5VDC@4A ?

[jameco sc200 Power Supply]

Watts: 32.0
Output voltage and current: +5VDC@4A; +12VDC@1A
Input voltage: 100-240VAC@50/60Hz

Thanks... but My Question is
"4A(+5V) is enough Ampere to run cps2 with JROK encoder?"

Another Question:
How much Ampere need JROK encoder ?

Look, I don't see why people just don't get an Arcade PSU?

Sure it's not as clean as the tabletop JAMECO PSU, but at least you'll never have to worry about Power being an issue. I love having the Arcade PSU in my Supergun, I just adgust the voltage when necessary.

Just my $0.02

Very few games require -5 volts (most notably early 90s midway/williams boards, MK series NBA Jam etc) 4 amps 5 volts for CPS2 should be OK.
As ToeJam said, why not get an arcade psu, the Peter Chou type are reasonably compact and rated at 15 amps.

I've never had a board that the sc200 would not power......

Try:

Ninja Warriors
Mortal Kombat series
Smash TV
Raiden
Street Fighter The Movie
MVS 6-slot

And even if a PSU manages to power a board it does not mean the game then works perfectly. I tried a 5V/4A desktop PSU (but not the sc200) on my 4-slot (the older bigger one) and while it did power it up the picture displayed faint lines. Nothing major but I found it disturbing. I switched to a 5V/6A PSU and the lines disappeared...

I had the same question myself and I can tell you facts, not speculation, because I've taken measurements. This data is based on trying several games. The values are rounded to tenths of an amp which in my opinion is enough to make decisions on what power supply to use.

* The CPS-II doesn't use -5 V.

* The CPS-II will draw appx. 3.5 A from +5 V.

* The CPS-II will draw appx. 0.4 A from +12 V.

* The JROK draws about 0.2 A from +5 V.

* A typical +12 V fan draws about 0.1 A.

For the superguns I've built, I've had the CPS-II equipment, JROK, and a single +12 V fan to power. So the total draws, and what I used to fuse them (fuse value = 1.5 * rated current) are as follows:

+5 V @3.7 A fused with MDA 5
+12 V @ 0.5 A fuse with MDA 3/4

Note that when the system is first powered the current will surge and be slightly higher. I'm using an arcade supply and have never had a problem or blown fuse.

Will the SC200 work? It depends on what else you are powering with it in addition to the CPS-II boards themselves . If you are building a system like mine, with the other powered equipment being only a JROK and a fan, I would say yes, but it's pushing it.
