Just recently, I've been getting a massive amount of pop ups coming from damn near every site I go to. One even came up here. Now, I've ran Spybot - Search and Destroy, Ad-aware 6, and even deleted all of my cookies but I keep getting the damn things. PeerGuarding stops most of them but they still pop up quite frequently. Is there anything else I can do to get rid of this?

Also disable windows messenger (it's a system process, not the IM client of the same name) - that sends pop-ups directly to your system, too. Do a google for the method, its really easy.

Nope. MUHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA!

I don't even read the posts anymore, I just scan over the first few words.

Try updating the reference files on Spybot and Adaware.

umm...
when spybot doesnt solve the problem I usually use this

It's very, vey powerful

http://www.aluriasoftware.com/
you can download it for free

only problem is a freeware. so It only scan your hard disk but not clean it
not that big problem
when scan is finished. check bad files(or registry entries) locations and cancel'em manually
It's also the best choice for the gator/gain crap

Even running the latest updates and everything, I haven't had much luck lately with Spybot and Ad-Aware getting *all* the junk out.

One thing you can do is install a firewall like ZoneAlarm to identify what processes are trying to access the 'net (to download new ads) and then kill them with Hijack This.

I've had the best luck with this program - SpySweeper It found the problem software that Ad-Aware and Spybot weren't finding for me.

You can try a new browser maybe. I use Mozilla Firefox (free from Mozilla.org). I think pop-up blocker is built in. It can filter cookies as well.

I actually use Firefox most of the time, but these pop ups aren't coming from a site. They just come up whenever I am browsing. I still haven't gotten rid of them but at least I got rid of some other questionable stuff.
