we've just bought a philips pixel plus tv, and all my gamecube games look like really weird... the objects in the game seem to have eh... "moving edges", its really ugly :(... its currently connected with the original cable that came with the gamecube. does anyone know if an rgb cable would fix it?

What kind of connections does your tv have?

For things to really look good, you need component cables. I don't know if your T.V. has those connections, but if it does, go out or go online and buy the component cables from Nintendo. Trsut me, it's worth it for the picture.

An RGB scart lead is your best bet esp as it is the same quality as component anyway.Component is becoming big in the US as they cannot have scart plugs with RGB but if you are in europe then just cram an rgb lead in the back

Yep - go with the scart. Component is pretty good, but scart beats it hands down in most (if not all) applications. It's just tough to beat the color separation and clarity you get with scart.

Hi,
what gcube do u have?
Jap or usa?
In order to obtain the rgb output in a jap console you need 2 cables, then put them togheter.Th HDTV one and an rgb one (need a little tech knowledge too).
the japanese console is the only one which supports hdtv output (the second connector seems has been removed in later models, but it still support it).
In the usa console only one (the rgb one) is ok.
Scart could mean many things (composite...svideo...rgb).
You must be sure to have an rgb output trough scart connector in any way in your cable/s.
For example use the three rca connectors (yellow, red, white) in juncion with a scart adaptor give (obviously) the same output.
I think RGB is always the best way.

:)

'Dot crawl' is a known effect when using composite video connections (included with most consoles... three RCA jacks-- red and white for audio, single yellow for video). It may just be more noticable on your new set.

I would recommend an S-Video (better) or component (best) connection, assuming your TV has either.

SCART will be excellent as well (as others have stated), assuming Nintendo offers a SCART cable in Europe (they don't over here).
