I want to hook up a memory card reader to my MVS board after finally getting hold of some cables for the damn thing. There are these green wires which I'm guessing are for earth with metal loops at the end. One end of the cables has been cut and is missing the loop. I want to know if I will encounter any problems due to this? Can I just do away with the green wires completely? Remember that this is a consollised MVS board and not a cabinet.
Thanx.

Yes you can do away with the earth wires completely, more than half of the actual connections from the MV-1C card reader PCB to the mobo are common ground anyway, they could have got away with a single 60 pin interconnect imho.
In a cab you would connect the the earths on the MV1C end to the control panel metalwork, and the mobo end to the screen can (on a multi) or any convienient common ground point on a single without screen cover.
