Gamefaqs best game ever: FFVII vs. Chrono Trigger

I can't even begin to decide between these two so I ain't voting. FFVII is pulling ahead though by about 2000 votes right now.

Still it'll be interesting to see who wins.

Chrono was WAY better

Would have been a better match this way: Chrono vs FF VI

Now it's more like, are you too young to have played Chrono in it's time or was your first console a Playstation ?

Anyway, I'm not sure if Chrono was a better game then Zeld III though...

FF6 is a close second...

About the FF7 thing, it made RPG's mainstream and defined new-school. Most people hate it for this reason, but it's my fav FF after FF6.

I know you'll kick me out for what I'm about to say, but I don't like RPGs at all!
Chrono Trigger is unknown to me except for the fact it's a VG, so it's not possible to comment.

BUT FFVII! ...how could I stay hours and hours in front of that screen to be taken from a short-film-sequence to another? how could I resist with all the useless battles and battles and battles with weird creatures?

YEAH (1) there's a good story, technically it was impressive for that time, but I can find better story in books, better movie-sequences in real full-lenght animation films... and better playing amusement in almost every other activity out on earth!

YEAH (2) I'm a VideoGaming-loser, I tell you. it takes me weeks even to complete a Tekken episode, but FFVII really takes too many hours anyway.
I was convinced by all the hype around, I tried it.
Well... while everyone seemed to love Aeris, I nearly bombed my TV each time she appeared; while everyone on planet Earth met Sephirot and got impressed and shocked and everything, I didn't even get to see him myself on my TV, just in magazines' reviews; while everyone fought with Cloud and the band, felt emotions and told himself "This is THE GAME! not you HHH" I just punched my TV saying to myself "Go out and get a life you idiot! You're not invited to the party! They're Square's polygonals and you're circle, don't have angles but anger!"

Woah I got frustrated! So I shut down the whole thing and didn't play RPGs anymore. It was my first and last.
Best game ever? WTF! KNOCK ME DOWN!

I knew it would come down to these two games since I first saw the brackets. I think both games are highly overrated, but Chrono Trigger is one of the few RPGs that I have actually finished. There's no sense in voting though, Final Fantasy VII is going to win no matter what.

Chrono is the better game. But everyone go vote for it now. It won't win if you decide it's not going to win.

But seeing FFVII in the finals every year is a travesty. The finals should have been between Zelda: LttP and Zelda: OoT.

FF7 wins every year, what's the point. also did they really need 8 zelda and FF games in the entire poll? i refuse to believe there aren't better games that should have been included. metal gear solid is better then FF7, and that's just one game...

All these "best game of all time" polls are basically ridiculous in the first place.

That said, I'd go with Chrono Trigger. It's one of the very few games that I think are just completely perfect. FF7 is an amazing game as well, but to me, it's not quite on the CT level.

Chrono and FF;7 are both fantastic games. I have so many good memories of them. I go for Chrono cause the multiple endings. I played through chrono more times than FF7.

jesus christ ff7 doesnt even deserve to eat chronos shit. the only way is if chrono ate its own shit then shit out that shit then made final fantasy 7 eat only a little bit of that shit then shit out THAT shit then eat that shit in its entirely! that way ff7 only has a little bit of 2nd time shit from chrono inside it and mostlty has its own recycled shit.

chrono trigger is a masterpiece, a game on a grand scale! ff7 is a stupid 3d piece of shit movie that only 13 years old can think is the best.

I'll be voting for CT FF7 shouldn't even be on the list. I thought 3 for the snes was way better. I wish I knew about this sooner there's no reason a zelda game shouldn't win this award :glee:
